My name is Kimberly Bright my son is a student at Jonesville elementary school here in Jonesville. My son has talked to his teacher as well as the principal about a certain student hitting him while the teachers back is turned. My son knows that if he hits the boy he will be suspended and wouldn't want to deal with me. I called the school and talked to the vice principal and all he's going to do is talk to the boy. My son is bigger than most kids his age and the boy is older than my son and he has expressed to me as well as his therapist's that if it don't stop he will hit the child back. I feel that just talking to the other boy isn't going to get anything accomplished and would like some information on how to better handle this situation. My son for the first time ever is wanting to drop out of school and is failing one class. My son has been a very good student until this school year and I want him to continue but I feel that the way he is being treated is affecting how well he can perfirm and consentrate. My next step will be to tell my son to start hitting the boy back and then maybe it will quit. If it does come to that then my son should not be suspended unless the boy is suspended for all the times he has hit, kicked, tripped, and bullied him.
