I began to see Dr. Xu last year. I have been very impressed by her treatment. The office is clean and the equipment first-rate. The staff is very friendly. Dr. Xu examined me carefully and provided effective treatment plans. I have been with several dentists in the past 2 decades, I must say that Dr. Xu is the best. Induced by Xu Lili's dental advertisement, I went to her clinic for routine cleaning in 2007. She asked me to do unnecessary treatment and her treatment damaged my nerves. I have been living in tremendous pain and misery in the last four years because of her treatment. Xu Lili induces people to her clinic by low price for routine cleaning and then asks people to do unnecessary treatment. Every time I have gone to her office, she has been extremely helpful and patiently explains everything that is going on. Since I started seeing Lili, my teeth have been in a much better condition. more

Here is a copy of the complaint I filed with Dental Board of California on July 25, 2009:\r \r On 11/19/07 I went to Lili Xu Dental Office for routine cleaning. She told me I have gum recession and need “buckles” in three teeth. So I went back to her office on 11/26/07 and a dentist in her office put three buckles, two on lower teeth and one on upper tooth. After going home I started feeling pain on the three teeth where the buckles were put on. I went back to her office again on 12/17/07 to find out why. Lili Xu told me the buckle on the upper tooth needed to be re-done. She then took off the buckle and drilled a big hole on my upper tooth and put in some medication which she said had numbing effect and would ease my pain. But after going home that night I felt tremendous pain on the upper tooth where she drilled the hole. So I called her and she told me I need to do root canal if my pain continues. I asked her I never had any symptoms before I saw her for routine cleaning, how come after her treatment, I am having so much pain and even need to do root canal now? I told her I do not want to do root canal because root canal basically cuts off the nerve to the tooth and the tooth will eventually die. She asked me to wait for two weeks. After two weeks, the pain alleviated, but it did not go away. I went back to her office and requested a copy of my chart and X-rays. Her office manager Lina Chen gave me the chart but said they lost my X-ray. Since then the pain on the upper tooth has stayed with me for the last one and a half years and never went away. During this period I went to see another dentist Alan Liu on 04/08/08. He checked my upper tooth and said he does not understand why Lili Xu drilled such a big hole on my tooth. He thinks it is totally not necessary and since the hole is so close to the nerves, that’s why I am feeling pain all the time. I had seen other dentist on regular basis before I went to see Lili Xu on 11/19/07 and no dentist has ever recommended putting these “buckles” on my teeth. I think Lili Xu put these “buckles” merely for the purpose of her own pocket and these buckles were also put incorrectly and thus caused me to feel pain. The worst part is the big hole she recklessly and irresponsibly drilled on my upper tooth and that caused me to have chronicle pain for the last one and a half years. I have been living in misery because of Lili Xu’s reckless work and I did not know what to do. I heard about California Dental Board in radio last week and I think I should file this complaint with your Board about the harm this dentist has done to me . more
