I was a little leery about this place after buying Living Social deals for both a Keratin treatment and for $ toward services, but was very pleasantly surprised upon my visit to the salon! I was nervous because I am not very trusting of salons - I lived in Atlanta for several years and had my go-to salon and stylist there who I wouldn't have dreamed of ever leaving behind. But, circumstances change and I had to move to South Florida where I began the search for new doctors to a new stylist. I was even more nervous because, before deciding to give Xanadu a shot, I had decided to cut 11 - 12 inches off of my hair to donate to Locks of Love. I needed to have a stylist I could trust to tackle such a feat. I saw the Living Social deals and took a look at the website and decided to take the leap of faith and give Xanadu a try.
I am so glad I did because the results were nothing short of fabulous! Our first order of business at Xanadu was the color treatment. I decided to color my hair with some blonde highlights, and we decided to do that first before the Keratin. Next up was the Keratin treatment. I met stylist Sandy who helped take care of me during my Keratin. She did an awesome job and was really great to chat with during the process. Afterwards, Manager Mali took care of my haircut. Because I cut off 11+ inches, I was most nervous at this point. Thankfully, Mali did an awesome job and was able to give me some really flattering side bangs and layers to give me a nice, soft but also edgy look. After the Keratin, highlights and cut, I left feeling like a whole new "me" and full of newfound confidence. The compliments I am getting from friends and coworkers have confirmed that they did a great job taking care of me. I feel really great and do not regret chopping my hair off at ALL after they gave me such an awesome new style. The best part is, my normally very frizzy/wavy hair is now straight all the time! I've even slept on it wet a few times and woken up to find that I barely need to do any straightening. That in itself is a major blessing.
I also went back last week after getting a Groupon for feathering and have also been getting compliments on those. I had a few small feathers sewed in and it only took a few minutes. If you're into that style and want to jump on the feathering trend, I highly suggest seeing Kaity to help you pick colors and sew them in.
I'm really happy to finally find a salon/spa who I can trust to take care of me now that I live in South Florida permanently. It's such a relief! The girls are all very sweet and make me feel right at home. In fact, I'm going back tomorrow afternoon for a facial. Will be sure to post an update as to what I think!
