Enough with wanting the theme park back 12/7/2011

I have finally had enough of you people complaining about tearing down the mall and bringing the Opryland theme park back. Face it its not coming back. They had no room to expand and couldn't compete with other theme parks. Just enjoy the memorys you had and stop all this complaining about something thats not going to happen. If you want a theme park go to Dollywood or Six Flags. more

They are trying but...watch yourself 4/3/2011

I must place only one star for Opry...it's not what it used to be and if fellas are not careful, it can be dangerous. Service is spotty at some vendors and retailers and I can't stress enough the safety factor. Until then, if you must go, go when shops just open and kids are in school. safety first! more

Don't see what everyone's talking about 11/22/2009

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the people here? I have been to Opry Mills several, several times and compared to all the other malls in this area, (Rivergate, Hickory Hollow, etc) this is the safest mall to be at. Yes they have had one shooting that I have heard about and this is not the only place. I even worked at BPS and I never felt safer! This is a wonderful mall and yes it is a LONG walk but isn't that what's wrong with the world today, NO ONE wants to get off their lazy butts...for those of you, say at home! Pros: Awesome stores, exercise, convenient more

A nice place to get stampeeded 2/28/2009

Since Citysearch refuses to let me talk about the group violence witnessed at the place, let us just say search for Opry Mills Shootings. Then watch Paul Blart Mall Cop and you'll get an idea of what the kids there think of the mall security. Pros: nice mall, decent varity, parking when it's not Christmas Cons: thugs with guns, scores of loitering teenagers, worst starbucks in town more

Opry Mills is NOT SAFE! 2/17/2009

This mall is horrible and has a serious lack of security. When we were there, the kids were running around the mall yelling and screaming, fighting, shooting and flashing g@ng signs. This mall does NOT take its security seriously. It was a nightmare. The theater employees acted like they could not even control their own theaters so we got our money back along with a bunch of others that could not put up with kids yelling, cussing, running around during movies. The mall security is horrible because it was obvious that g@ngs were there way before the violence happened. They were walking around in large groups with their identical colored outfits flashing g@ng signs at each other long before any shootings happened!!! It was a real nightmare there. It is NOT safe. more

Beautiful Mall but Never ever ever again! 2/15/2009

This has got to be one of the most awesome malls that I have gone to in years. Stores, shops, and restaurants that we visited were full of great deals. Visiting for the first time all the way from Louisville with my wife and my 7 and 11 year olds we were impressed with the Ray Petting atraction, the aquarium restaurant and a host of other family type activities. However... we will never ever go back! Having been caught in the midst of the violence which sprung up there over this weekend by the pack of Animals (the only way to describe them) which roam the halls looking to prove themselves as thugs and gangbangers, we found that it is just not worth it. On our first visit to this mall, we found ourselves literally running for our lives with our children, being rushed by the terrified and concerned mall employees into the back of the store, and cringing in terror as not only a huge fight broke out in the food court, but also listening to what sounded like gunshots rang out both inside and outside the mall. I lost sight of my 11 year old son for a few seconds as shoppers and diners stampeded in every direction. I watched as my 7 year old daughter cried to employees hiding in the storage area of a store how she did not want to die. Watched my wife crying in disbelief. Lost in the madness some of the great deals which we had purchased earlier. Found ourselves terrified as we finally found the nerve to try and get our children to the car and as far away from that mall as possible and even then, had our children ducking with their head down until we were safely back on the freeway. Short of the three or four mall security officers which was helpless to control the packs of gangbanger wannabes which roamed the halls at every turn, there was no visible police presence. They walk, talk, and rush most of the mall without regard. But most importantly, they take it upon themselves to put the lives and safety of bystanders into their own hands. Pros: Beautiful and full of bargains Cons: Not worth risking my familiy's life or safety for! more

get over yourself 2/15/2009

For starters, the mall is massive, for those of you in your thirty's and complain about walking, get a wheel chair from guest services. I'm 43 and I have circled the mall dozens of times. Get off your lazy A$$ and quit complaining. Two, this mall is filled with nothing but little thugs who need a good old fashioned A$$ tanning. Pros: macaroni grill, barnes and noble, imax Cons: teenagers more

I love this mall! 1/5/2008

I love the stores! Every time I go to Nashville I go to this mall! They have alot of stores such as American Eagle, Old Navy, Rue 21, Forever 21, Aeropsostale, Pacsun, & many more! I love going to the movies there also! Pros: All the stores to pick from, going to the movies, going out to eat! It's fun for anyone! Cons: NONE! more

Quite lovely... 5/29/2007

As being someone who has lived in many different countries, as well as many different cities here in america-I found it both fascinating and frustrating to read the reviews of some of the participants who has visited this mall. I found the Opry Mills mall to be quite lovely as well as spacious, and well executed with shops that are familiar to the average shopper-of all ages. I believe that many of the ""locals"" who visit this mall are quite jaded in regards to the changes that this mall has brought to the area. From the many different shops to the variety of food choices to the availability of the movies scheduled- I believe that everyone should experience this mall with an open mind, and make any judgments for themselves. Pros: Options of all sorts more

response to sharplooks!!!!! 1/11/2007

Amen Brother!!! I completely understand what you mean, its so true, that mall is horrible and the jungle is scarey!! Pros: the name- it used to be opryland, and they have forever 21 Cons: its horrible, it is close to impossible to get out there more

WHERE ARE THE RIDES 10/5/2006

UM WELL AS A NATIVE TO THE AREA, I HAVE TO SAY I MISS THE THEME PARK. I WENT THERE AS A KID AND DEEPLY WISH IT WAS STILL AROUND INSTEAD YOU HAVE THIS SLAB OF CONCREATE IN ITS PLACE. I HONESTLY HAVE ONLY GONE 2 TIMES TO THE MALL AND THAT IS 2 TIMES TO MANY. THE RAINFOREST CAFE YEH IT LOOKS COOL BUT THE PRICES ARE INSANE!!! NOT TO MENTION EVERY ONE IS THERE TO GET LOW PRICES ON ITEMS, WELL FOLKS YOU ARE BEING JIPPED. SORRY!! THE TRUTH HURTS. I MEAN HONESTLY WHO WANTS TO WLK AROUND A HUGE MALL THAT HAS EXPENSIVE JUNK FOR SALE....ONLY IN THE SOUTH!! MY ADVISE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY ITEMS AND SHOPPING GO TO THE GREEN HILLS MALL. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FUN, THEN FOR GOODNESS SAKE DONT GO TO A STUPID MALL!!!!!!!!!! Pros: IMAX Cons: PARKING, PRICES, QUALITY OF ITEMS more

Tourist Mall 8/8/2006

As a resident of Nashville, I can tell you that this mall is for tourists. Most locals go to the Mall at Green Hills. Like others have said, it's massive, and usually quite crowded. However, there are some neat stores and great deals to be found within, especially in the outlets. Pros: Nice variety Cons: A few lowlifes, Glow Golf just...won't...die... more

Not good for much... 7/23/2006

Essentially, this mall caters to tourists and the lower class of Nashville. Half of the stores are unique to Nashville, yes, but that's because they sell niche items like country music memorabilia and various pieces of Southern-pride junk. The only redeeming store there is an outlet store for Saks Fifth Avenue, but even this place has an abysmal men's section. Otherwise, all of the other stores (Banana Republic, Abercrombie, Aeropostale, AE, Gap...) can be found at any of the other [better] malls in the area. It's overcrowded and just last weekend, 7/15/06, there was a g@ng-related shooting in the food court area that resulted in innocent shoppers getting shot...yeah, GREAT place... Do yourself a favor and go to the Mall at Greenhills. It's MUCH classier, has better stores and is closer to downtown and great restaurants. more

nasty 7/17/2006

This mall Stinks. There are too many people radiating sweat to be able to walk around comfortably. It reeks of upchuck and human odor constantly and the most prevalent sounds are those of loud men arguing over Kenny Chesney and persistent toddlers begging for their Build-A-Bears. There is, however, a humonguous food court. There can be too much of a good thing, and this mall is simply TOO BIG. You cannot walk around the entire premises in one day without passing out! There are a few interesting stores, but it's just not worth it. The IMAX, on the other hand, is pretty cool. But I would rather just have Opryland. Pros: cheap, fast food, IMAX Cons: too many to count more

Too many kiosks 12/15/2005

Walking down the hallways, you are chased and harrassed by the ""merchants"" in the middle. I avoid going to this mall like the plague. more

Opry Mills...lots ot look at! 8/20/2005

I really enjoy Opry Mills. I do miss Opryland, but all good things often come to an end. Let's be positive, though! Opry Mills is lots of fun with cool shops and several outlet stores. I especially like Off Broadway Shoes, Nike, Build A Bear, Liz Claiborne, Old Navy. Lots of unique shops you won't find anywhere else. Pros: Unique shops, Outlet stores, Wide Selection Cons: LOTS of walking! more

Unusual, but disappointing 7/18/2005

I'm not sure I recommend more than one visit to the Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee. The mammoth shopping mall is not an aesthetic replacement for Opryland. It is an oasis in asphault and an injustice to Nashville citizens, in my opinion, with only average stores. Nashville can do much better. The biggest disappointment is its size. Even the fitness-minded powershopper will be exhausted to tears. However, one of Opry Mills' saving graces is IMAX. Thankfully, movie-goers don't have to enter the mall area. It's also a shame the beautiful Opryland Hotel and the Grand Ole Opry House are reduced to parking lot features at Opry Mills. The owners have successfully destroyed a Nashville tribute to late country music stars and buried them beneath the asphault. Besides all this, Nashville has more than 1 million people. Where are the trendy stores? It's certainly big enough to support them. Pros: IMAX Cons: Size, Pricing, Accesibility more

Way To Go 5/14/2005

They tear down an entire theme park and still cant manage to obtain a REAL department store like Nordstrom, Neimans, or Macy's, Personally I would MUCH rather spend my day at a theme park enjoying the atmosphere , and if gaylord had an ounce of business sense they would have been able to keep opryland open. If you want to shop take yourself to Atlanta , NYC, Chicago, or LA. but lets face it Nashville is not a shoppers destination, I would however get on a plane to go to opryland. Pros: Leaving Cons: Arriving more

IT'S WORTH SEEING 2/7/2005

Opry Mills is definately worth seeing when in Nashville. The Movie Theater is great. If you are into hunting or fishing you can find everything you need at Bass Pro Shops. There is a wide variety of restaurants to check out. Pros: Average Parking, Variety Cons: Sometimes Crowded more

An Okay Mall 12/9/2004

I live in Clarksville, and Opry Mills is a lot better than our Governor Square Mall. It has a lot more stores, and to be honest, I kind of like the tourist shops and attractions. The movie theater is awesome, and so is the Rainforest Cafe. It is a very expensive mall, so I rarely buy anything, but it is fun to walk around. I will say that a lot of the service leaves much to be desired, and there are a lot of people there most of the time. I would have rather they left OpryLand alone, but we can't dwell on that, now can we? ::Sniffle:: Overall, it's decent, and if you have money to spend, spend it here. Pros: Fun to browse,, Rainforest Cafe, Theaters, Apple Barn Cons: , Expensive, Hard to find parking more
