I'm a resident of HI and have heard from others to stay away from Woodstock. However I decided to try before judging. To my surprise, the comments were correct. If you ever want to be hassled before moving out then you should have no issues with this real-estate agency. I truly understand having the premises clean and handed back the way it was (of course, minus normal wear and tear); however, looking for things to pile on your plate upon check-out and having you pay ridiculous prices for cleaning and other things one can do on their own is stupid. I would say clean yourself, but that would not suffice—or that’s why they would say, leaving you no choice but to resort to their recommendations. Pure monopoly…… I’m very disappointed and so is my husband. Maybe selling a house to/or from someone is a different story, but as for renting we will never recommend anyone to Woodstock. There are other choices on the island and great ones too—choices that if made would free you from half the dilemma you would be facing with Woodstock. Thank you from robbing us of our deposit (after the fact that we did everything that was asked) and trying to bill us for unrelated (not even covered by the lease) items. I applaud the few who have had a good experience with Woodstock—I wish the same could be said for our family. more

Folks at Woodstock Pro. are by no means professional—I also have lived on the island and like many others serve in the military. Although I never dealt with Dusty (think she is the owner) I certainly have with her staff. The list of things you are expected to do is a bit ridiculous as other have mentioned. And yes, they are very aware of the folks charging 500+ for cleaning—after all, Woodstock Properties are the one making the recommendations. I regret not doing research on Woodstock Properties prior to renting with them--all of my previous experience with other real-estate properties have been positive, hence why it never crossed my mind. Horrible mistake on my part. Folks looking to rent should take precautions and do diligent by online research. The chances of you finding good things about this real-estate agency are slim to none. I would like to commend Woodstock Properties for having a most caring and competent staff, and an owner who also gets in and does her part which included taking me through one of the most thorough walk-throughs I have ever had. Most Property Managers just leave the walk through to the renter, and I can t tell you what a headache that is. Dusty took her time to go over everything with me prior to moving in, and was very kind in explaining their policies in having the previous renter responsible for having apartments professionally cleaned and checked out. I was very happy to hear this, as when I move in, I want to know that my new home is going to be clean and free of pests and tenant leftovers. I will be most happy to do the same when I move out. This is a considerate move, not one to make people miserable. I hardly can believe that someone charged over 500 dollars to clean as Mike below stated. I know already from interacting with the staff and owner of Woodstock Properties this would not be acceptable without some very good reasoning behind it. I have lived in my apartment for 6 months now, and have had every request met professionally and promptly. Take it from one who knows what it is like to NOT have a Property Manager answer phone calls and requests. My previous one was a nightmare! Thank you, Woodstock Properties! more

I strongly recommend staying away from this real-estate company. I have never had such a headache upon checking out from a rental as I did with these people. I’m surprised the word “scam artist” is not in their description. There are plenty of other wonderful real-estate agencies in HI, I recommended going with one of those. You can pretty much kiss your security deposit away—not only will you not receive it but you will likely be billed an additional amount for some ridiculous claim. There is also list of things you must do before checking–out (but be sure to go with the folks they select because.. if not, it will not be good enough and you will be charged to do the job again): 1. Pest Treatment (if you have pets this must be done 2-- 10 days apart, even if your pets were out-side pets) – $95 a visit 2. Carpet Cleaning – $120 – $150 3. House Cleaning – $500-$600 Instead of working something out to have this done after you leave, you are required to do it while still occupying the premises making it a nightmare during move out. Even after you do what is asked and go thru the folks they have selected, they are still not happy with the job done. Make sure you mark everything (and I mean everything) because if not you will be responsible for it at the end (this includes water spots on exterior windows, dust on water heater in garage, mud or dirt in gravel, etc…. unbelievable if you ask me).
