The Course
The perpetually challenging but eminently playable $11 million Robert Trent Jones Jr. course requires a tactical mind and a putter of steel. Flanked by housing developments and forest outcroppings, the carefully manicured fairways generally allow a straightforward line of sight to the green, rarely forcing golfers to strike a blind shot. Hit the targets and gauge approach shots according to the pin placement, because certain greens revel in forcing a difficult third putt. The green plays 5,200 to 7,000 yards in length.
The Experience
The experience at Woodmont doesn't end at the super white bunker sand and well-maintained green. Woodmont has a 26,000-square-foot Club House and PGA golf instruction. An added perk is the in-cart computer system, which helps plan shots, keep score and order food.
