Philosophy: Wonderland Farm offers lessons in English hunt seat equitation. We strive to teach both correct Horsemanship and correct Equitation, which is the art of correct riding technique. Riding has great benefits for children and families. Riding is a healthy outdoor sport; it can be enjoyed, alone, in a group, or as part of a team or family activity, and this enjoyment can be lifelong. We offer lessons from age 5 thru adult. All levels are welcome from beginners thru advanced. Adult beginners are especially welcome. So no matter what your age or skill level, give us a call and come explore the enriching experience of the equine partner. Quality Lesson Mounts: Wonderland Farm has the largest selection of quality lesson mounts available, both ponies and horses, Whether you are an experienced rider competing on the show circuit or someone just starting out we have the right horse for you. Instructor holds BA degree in Equine Studies Karen Halpryn Mealey, owner and head instructor, received her B. A. Degree in Equine Studies in 1990 from Virginia Intermont College, and has over 25 years teaching experience ranging from youth to adults at all levels from the beginner and novice levels to advanced riders showing on the circuit. Her patience and attention to detail has turned out many talented and up and coming riders. Excellent Facilities: Situated on 106 acres, the farm includes a lighted 150 x 260 ring with sand footing and a full set of jumps. In addition there is a round pen, grass ring, and wooded trails. The main show barn has rubber mats, hot/cold wash rack, restroom, lounge area for relaxing & socializing. Additional services: In addition to lessons, the farm offers school break & summer camps, boarding, professional level training, sales, and on site horse shows. We offer birthday parties at our beautiful farm where kids can enjoy pony rides and get to explore an learn more about these fuzzy friends. For the competent rider, not ready to purchase yet, we have several horses available in our lease program.. Trail rides are available on our beautiful 106 acres of property. They are by prior appointment only. One hour guided rides are $45 per person.
