Lack of Customer service (front desk) 3/25/2014

I just started going to this OBGYN practice and I'm already super upset. One of the front desk ladies is always rolling her eyes at me and is super rude, she lacks customer service skills. She acts like she doesn't want to work there, but if that's the case she should quit instead of taking it out on the patients. One of the Nurses named Lee is always throwing stuff around and acts like she hates her life and the fact that she works there. I always have to wait atleast 1 hour to be seen and when I'm finally in I'm practically rushed out. I do not recommend this place to anybody and in fact I'm already looking for another place. more

Disgusted With This Practice 10/13/2012

I have been going to this practice for at least the past 10 years. I have never felt satisfied with any service other than the actual yearly exam. I am now pregnant for the second time and I delivered my first child with this practice at the old MTMC about 5 years ago. During my first pregnancy I met with my doctor a few times and they do shift you around to the other doctors so you have a chance to meet each doctor in the practice because you never know who will actually deliver your baby. They were not very open to my birth plan, and are not friendly to those who know they want a natural childbirth. I was basically told how everything was going to go, but I was more forceful and said no, I want things a certain way, and eventually got what I wanted. I returned there for the first few visits for this pregnancy, which included 3 ultrasounds over 3 weeks to determine how far along I was. The nurses I saw were not very compassionate and I had to wait for 2 hours with each appointment! I think there is a major breakdown in the scheduling department and they overrun their nurses at least with too many appointments. There is never any reason for someone to wait 2 hours for what is ultimately 10-15 minutes in the room with the nurse. It is beyond ridiculous. I was also disgusted with a lady in the scheduling department when I called for my first OB appt. last month. I was given progesterone during my last pregnancy which they told me was to prevent miscarriage, so I wanted to be seen sooner because of this. The lady told me it would only be 3 more weeks before they would see me and I got a little hysterical. She did not care ONE BIT if I miscarried or not as long I just got off the phone and tried to make an appt for 3 weeks later. I was very upset by the lack of real care this practice has. I decided to find a new dr. and chose the nurse midwives at Vanderbilt. After requesting my records I got a letter from this practice saying since I am changing doctors they will no longer provide care for me in the future. Awful. more

Plan on a long wait 12/1/2011

This office has an all female staff, which I think is great, and one of the reasons I started going there. However, they are very busy and seemingly understaffed and disorganized. Most of my appointments have had at least an hour wait before I was finally seen. Today, I waited for over two hours for a checkup. About an hour in, one of the girls from the front desk asked me my name, and never came back with any information or reason why it was taking so long. When I was finally called back, they simply said they had lost my chart. Now, the Dr. I have there is very nice, but I have only had the chance to see her maybe 3 times during my entire pregancy. The rest of the time I have been switched between the other Dr.s and nurses, so there hasnt been any real "getting to know your Dr." or them getting to know the patient for that matter. I have had to retake tests due to "miscommunication" between the different Dr.s and nurses due to this. The front desk staff for some reason handles billing, although they do have a billing dept. and will discuss loudly with you in the waiting room how much you owe and for what. I found that to be distasteful. Overall, I wouldn't recomend going to this office for your pregnancy, maybe for those yearly womens health visits. If you choose to go, expect to wait a long time, rarely see your actual Dr. and deal with a level of disorganization. I wont be returning after this pregnancy. more

Horrible service 6/12/2011

I've been going to Women's Health Specialists since I was 16, I'm now 20..I've never had a very good experience with them. I've never once gotten in touch with my own doctor, they make it near impossible to get in contact with your doctor because you have to leave messages for a nurse who sometimes won't return your call anyway. I only went there in the first place for birth control but my doctor refused to give me a new prescription unless I had a pap smear every year which was unnecessary considering my age and number of sexual partners. And just last night, I find out from Walgreens that they can't refill my prescription because my doctor left the practice a year ago. Women's Health Specialists didn't even have the decency to send out letters to the doctor's patients that she had left. Apparently the doctor overseeing my case suddenly didn't want to give any more refills. I'm going tomorrow to get my records and I never plan to go back. Hope I'm the only one that had this terrible of an experience with them. more

Compassion meets Knowledge! 12/25/2005

I had a very unpleasant experience with my first pregnancy and I was experiencing pain and cramping that I felt was abnormal... My original OB/GYN assured me that it was normal and did not complete an exam or even bother to ask me detailed questions. After 5 months of feeling ignored and worried about the health of my baby I decided to find a new OB/GYN. I did not know that this would be so difficult! Doctor's don't like to take on new patients that are already that far along in their pregnancy. I pleaded my case and Dr. Moss agreed to see me. During my first visit she was so kind, warm and patient. She answered all questions and assured me that she was going to everything in her power to make sure the baby was healthy and happy. At this first visit she discovered that I was in premature labor. The pain I was experiencing was due to contractions! She prescribed medication and had me admitted to MTMC just to be safe. After a month of bed rest my baby was born 2 months early. Dr. Moss was knowledgeable and compassionate when dealing with my obvious fears about his early arrival. She managed to use several methods to delay the birth for 3 days giving us precious time to get the much needed steroid injections. Today my son is happy and healthy. I owe the peace my family feels and the health of my son to Dr. Moss. She never took short cuts, rushed, or made me feel stupid for asking questions. She was a first time Mom's dream doctor. I recommend her to family and friends every chance I get. She is simply the best! more
