Oh, the memories 4/4/2006

Although it's usually very crowded and it's not as nice as the Rockafellar center skating experience, Wollman's does have it's perks. Wollman's rink is one of the less expensive ice-skating rinks in the city. It's outdoors, unlike Chelsea's Sky rink, which is always a plus in my book. Plus, I used to come here all the time when I was younger, so this place brings back memories. A long, long time ago, Wollman's was a roller-skating rink in the summer months, and I really liked that. It's a shame they don't rent roller skates anymore. I wonder where one can go to get some decent rollerskating (not blading) in while in New York. more

Good Skating rink 8/16/2005

This is a popular skating rink in New York City. Probably one of the best, if not already the best. Skaters pay a flat fee to get in and they can skate all day. The center of the rink is reserved for professional skaters who want to practice tricks. When there are large crowds, the rink gets re-iced a lot more often. That's not good because it takes up a lot of time to do. So although this is a good rink, the crowd really can be a hassel sometimes. During the summer this place is turned into a tiny carnival type place. They have small rides and games, all for kids though. more

Nice Winter Treat 8/11/2005

Often crowded during the winter months with high schoolers and New Yorkers looking for a place to escape. The rink is bigger than Rockafellar center and the price is cheaper as well. The view may not be as nice as Rockafellar Center, but it is located near Central Park where you can take a stroll. Offers rentals and lockers to store your belongings. The line can be long in the afternoon hours. Can be nice place to take your date and have group outings. more

Another NY landmark to visit! 8/3/2005

My favorite part about this skating rink was taking our picture in front of it and sending it to friends and family who all ate it up. The rink is bigger than the Rockefeller Center rink, so that's one plus. It can be crowded, but like other rinks, if you go early in the year when they open in October you will have a relatively hassle-free, fun experience good for visitors or natives. more
