First off, I don't make it out to Evanston that often nor do I live near the place. So when I was passing by one day I found this store and decided to do some gift shopping. The employees greeted me politely when I first entered and explained their ""system"" of wine storage (basically based on characteristics than region like other stores). What impressed me was the fact they still had bottles of a top 10 wine of 2008 (rated by Wine Spectator) for sale. I grabbed 2 bottles and left satisfied I found this now rare find. Fast forward to this week and again I find myself passing through. I decided to press my luck once more. This time I find another top 100 wine from the same list for sale. Again, I grabbed 2 bottles. But little did I know at the time I would run into the same wine at another store for $10 CHEAPER. The next day I went back and tried to return my purchase, only to be SHOT DOWN by the lady at the counter giving me this whole song n dance about the quality of the wine and ACCUSING that I let the wine sit in my care overnight letting it ""cook"". May I say, I kept the wine in my cool basement on my wine racks along with the other 50 some bottles in my personal collection. Now, NO WHERE in the store or on the receipt is there a sign that says ""NO REFUNDS"" (there probably is now after I posed this review). So, if she wouldn't refund my money I asked if she could price match in which she said she couldn't do either saying she'd lose money if she attempted to price match (duh). In disgust, I ""politely"" left the store with wine that I overpaid for. Needless to say, I am VERY DISSATISFIED and will not be returning for my wine needs. I pity them, it's their loss since buy a lot of wines
Pros: Rare wines from time to time
Cons: NO REFUNDS (they don't tell you that either)!!!
