We went snorkeling by the convention center and hit the waves at the beaches. Early checkin was $20 but if you get there in time you can catch the free breakfast.

My wife and I attended a wedding in Martindale and we were very pleased with the value of the Howard Johnson. The continental breakfast and room location were very nice. The staff was very friendly and understanding. more

We have been coming down to SPI for portions of 11 winters, starting with a couple of weeks and now for several months. We have stayed at the Wind Water for 10. We love being on the boat channel and near the Birding Center and the dunes. The current owners have made some great improvements this season including new tile floors, new countertops and new tile bathrooms. The hot tub and internet connections are good and yesterday they added new machines in the laundry room and a new waffle machine in the breakfast room. We think it is a good vacation value. The beaches and dunes are the cleanest we've seen since we started coming down here to avoid some of our Montana winters. more

We love the deck over the boat channel, and stay here every winter. The location near the birding center, beach and dunes, is very convenient. Many nice restaurants are a short drive away. It is friendly and comfortable. more

stayed there back in november with my wife for a getaway. the pirce was great and the hotel was clean and well kept.The bed was a lil hard but thats the way I like it. We will go back again more

On a budget and wanted a nice stay on the island without emptying our wallet. Room 125 functional. Comfortable bed, clean sheets, towels, two TV's. Beautiful view of cove/bayside condos. Kids loved it! Keep in mind the place is old and u do get what you pay for. It's no fancy resort! BRING FABREEZE... and spend the money you saved by staying here, on a nice dinner watching the beautiful South Padre Island Sunset!! more

The staff at the Wind Water is very courteous and professional and very willing to accomodate your needs as a traveler. My wife and I were very pleased at the friendliness of Jay and Kirsten at the front desk. They were very prompt in answering my calls and returning them within a reasonable amount of time prior to my travels. more

There are very few people here and the beach is practically deserted. I spend a lot of time on the balcony watching the sea gulls and pelicans. The temperature is moderate and ranges from 60-80. A few chilly days are to be expected with 50 degrees. more
