Window-ology is excellent. We had our kitchen, nook and family room remodeled, and we hired them to put in window shades. I didn't really know what I wanted, something that offered privacy and color in addition to being decorative and updated. I was very happy with all the options and choices they gave me. The salesperson was friendly, gave me a lot of ideas about color and texture, and if I didn't understand something he answered all my questions. Their staff is very well educated in their service and decoration, their expertise is absolutely excellent. The product is good quality and was installed in a timely manner, no delays. I got exactly what I wanted, it's perfect and I am just thrilled. more

Eight years ago my husband and I decided it was time to update our window treatments on the first floor of our home in Pleasanton. Alan (the owner) came out, measured and talked about the various options available to us. Because our back patio has a Southern exposure and gets that HOT Pleasanton afternoon sun (which will practically melt anything), Alan advised us to purchase the more expensive Plantation Shutters and Blinds for the sliding glass doors and clearstory windows. He explained in detail the materials that were used and because of this, the blinds would not yellow, fade, split or warp. We were on a tight budget and at the time we were a little apprehensive of the more costly expenditure. After some thought, we decided to take his advice and purchase the products he suggested. Well, the test of time has proven Alans advice to be 100 spot on! After numerous Summers and record breaking hot spells, the shutters and blinds still look as new as the day they were installed. Every Summer my husband and I say to each other (repeatedly) Im so glad we spent the extra money and listened to Alans advice. We would be been sick if we had chosen to save a few dollars and now had coverings that we were not thrilled with. In addition, the installer at the time was wonderful. He was professional and a true craftsman. I am a perfectionist(obsessively so) and this man exceeded my expectations. A product is only as good as the quality of the installation. We were and remain thrilled with our decision. That said, last July, we decided it was time to update the last few remaining windows in the house. My husband asked are you going to use Window-ology, again. I didnt even have to think about it of course! Once again, Alan came out and made suggestions. In the dining room, where there is no sun exposure, he recommended a 2.5 blind that was cost competitive with those el cheapo Lowes cut-it-yourself blinds, but was of far superior quality and matched everything else down stairs. The upstairs was a bit more challenging and custom, with shutters being ordered. On installation day, the team of 3 performed with the same level of perfection as 8 years prior (I love consistency). We only had one minor error...the shutters for the guest room were accidentally made in a 3 shutter slat instead of 2.5. I called Alan and without question or pause, he immediately ordered the 2.5 replacement. We were also able to keep the 3 during the interim. Last week, the new shutters were installed and everything is perfect, once again. I thank Alan for his commitment to his customers and his business. I remember when I went into his showroom (which is awesome, by the way) before this most recent order. Alan was working with some individuals on a sizeable order of +70K. In looking back, I have to say that at no time did I ever feel that their order was more important than ours even though ours was considerably less. I would whole heartedly recommend Alan and his entire team to everyone. They are true professionals coupled with that personal Pleasanton feel that we all love. Do not waste your time shopping around. With Window-ology, you will have no regrets...and lets be honest how often does one redo all their window coverings. If you are like most of us, probably once or twice in the life of your home. They are something that one uses and sees DAILY. If you are not happy with what you have purchased, you will be reminded of it constantly. So, my advice is to be smart and be happy and see Alan. My only regret is that I do not have any more windows to cover! more

Window-ology did great work. The only issue was a shade that came a little later than we all expected, it wasn't their fault though it had shipped late from the manufacturer. It would be nice if the prices were reduced a little, especially for the amount of windows we had. Everyone that came was great though, you can tell they all love their jobs and that is key. more

My experience with Window-ology was fantastic! Michelle was the person who helped me. She was knowledgeable and extremely helpful without being too helpful. I think it's great as a customer to not be over-helped into something you don't like, and Michelle was not like that. She listened to what I had to say and offered her suggestions, but was not at all pushy. Everyone there is fabulous. From the installers to Michelle, everyone was wonderful. In fact, I had used them for a project last year and that's why I called them back this time. I would definitely use them again and have already recommended their services. more

I had used Window-ology before. I wouldn't hesitate to use them! I wouldn't go back to them again if I did not feel that way. There are lots of places that sell window coverings, but Window-ology is great! I'd highly recommend them! They are willing to work with your schedule. They come out and give you lots of ideas if you don't quite know which direction you're going. I didn't know what kind of shades I wanted, and Window-ology was really good about helping me hone my option on what I needed. They're also good with fabrics and matching! They know what colors work with your room and walls! more

Ryan came out to take measurements and give me an estimate. He was able to do this pretty quickly and responded with details and clarity. Before making our final decision we visited the showroom and met Allan. He was patient, uber informative and extremely nice. Ken did the hardwire and install. He was considerate, professional and took pride in the work that he did. We couldn't ask for a better person to do the job. more

Window-ology installed all window coverings in the Victorian home we have. They made it age appropriate for a Victorian house and it is AMAZING. They did a great job and they did an excellent, speedy job. more

I don't want to dwell on the negative, but we had a little shutter issue after the work was done. The great thing was I called Window-ology to talk to them about it, and the owner came out the next day and fixed everything in a timely manner. Everything they did looks beautiful. I have used Window-ology over the years in my home. I first started using them 10 years ago when they did the shades for us. Then we had a major remodeling of our home and they did most of the windows in our home. They had a good price range and they were very professional. They always came up with very creative ideas. For example, they thought of a great idea to block the sun but also made it possible for us to see our backyard through the windows. They were always very willing to work with our needs and they had great customer service. I will continue to use them and my daughters use them as well. more

To make a long story short, I first started out with a home design center. They gave me a quote, and of course they tried to sell me upgrades. This was for my second home, and my wife usually handles these kinds of things, but she was at our home in Chicago at the time, so this was my first experience getting quotes. Even so, I thought it was a high price for curtains, so I decided to go to a local home improvement store to do some research, and they recommended Window-ology. A girl that worked at the store told me that while they themselves sold a good product, they use Window-ology as a subcontractor, and she had heard great things about them. She could tell I was picky, so she recommended I go there. I drove to Windo-ology and met Alan in the showroom that day. He was giving me an overview of the product, along with a couple other people who came in without appointments, just like me. He gave us all a quick rundown on the products, then I set up an individual appointment with Window-ology to have them come to my home. Alan himself came out to do all the measuring. He gave me some ideas on the different options that I had, and though I wasn't 100 percent sure I was going to go with wood shutters at that stage, that's what I ended up doing. I felt comfortable with him. He answered all my questions and told me how well they could match the existing crown molding and window frames. It was great to know that they could fabricate wood shutters that would work with the sliding doors to my two upstairs balconies. I felt comfortable with them, so I signed the contract. I was expecting to get my special order in following an 8 week lead time, but I think it was roughly 4 or 5 weeks instead. It definitely was not the 8 weeks that was quoted, and it definitely got here earlier than I anticipated. The installers came out once the shutters arrived. I felt comfortable with the two installers, comfortable enough even to leave and leave them a key, and I never do that. They were clean, they vacuumed, and they cleaned up after themselves. They also explained the process of what they were doing, even though they didn't have to, but they wanted to make sure I knew, as a customer, what they were doing. They worked there all day, got it done, and I'm very, very happy. more

A few years back, we needed some top-down, bottom-up honeycomb shades for our very tall Eichler windows. After some frustrating phone calls, we hit the jackpot with Window-ology! They helped us order the right shades for our windows, and the shades are high quality and work very well. The staff is friendly, helpful, and professional. When a repair was needed recently, they were very responsive and got the repair done right away (it turned out to be a small repair that they were able to do while I waited!). I highly recommend Window-ology. more

The whole process with Window-ology was very good. About 5 years ago, they had made us some beautiful shades that worked really well for us. Just recently, I took in one of the shades to have it repaired, and they did it at no cost. They are a helpful company, and I'd use them again. more
