Great first visit 5/28/2009

We recently went to eat at The Yellow Porch but didn't have a reservation and they were full, they ask if we would like for them to call Wild Iris and see if they had room. The only room at Wild Iris was at the bar so they saved us two seats. Pros: Food, Wine, Service Cons: Driving to Brentwood more

Jeckyll & Hyde 5/17/2009

I've been several times during lunch?sometimes the restaurant was packed and we sat at the bar, other times it was strangely empty in the middle of the typical lunch. Almost every time (with the exception of the bar experiences)?we've been relatively ignored by our server. Food has come out at different times, or things were forgotten, drinks ignored, etc. Good service should come standard with any restaurant experience?pricey or not. We finally just quit going and began choosing other options in the Brentwood area. If you do want to support the owners?try Yellow Porch in 100 Oaks. It's far superior. Pros: nice patio, great bread Cons: inconsistent, crowded, hit-or-miss service, pricey more

great for business lunch 10/17/2008

We eat lunch at Wild Iris at least once a month for business. The lunch menu is well-priced (around $10) and the food is excellent. We've always had good service. The dinner menu is more expensive. more

Very nice! 6/4/2008

In town on business and hotel recommended this restaurant last night Wow! Every course was delicious, especially the shark, definately fresh! Server was very helpful in wine selection and pairing with food. Will be back! Thanks Pros: menu and wine Cons: small dining room and bar more

Over-rated, over-priced and over-hyped 5/24/2008

Took our son to the Wild Iris at his request for his birthday, I won't be back...birthday or no birthday. Not impressed with the wine list so we did not partake. Food was O-K...thats all, portions were small Pros: sorry none Cons: high prices for small portions and I'm not a big eater more

I'm Confused.. 5/14/2008

At all the positive ratings this place has received. Nice wine list and local microbrews on tap, but the food and service would get an Applebees manager fired. The only thing I can possibly come up with is that there are few local eateries to compare it to. Pros: Wine list and local microbrews Cons: Food and Service more

over rated, under served and over charged 4/20/2008

The issue and salvation of this place is one in the same. There are only 1 or 2 good restaurants in Brentwood, so Wild Iris has been able to make it because of the lack of competetion. The food is okay nothing to write about, the wine selction is plentiful. The issue is the prices are out of range for where they should be. The sevice is pretty decent, but the menu is not exciting, nor is the food anything you can't create at home. With fuel pricing rising and the economy slowing how long can an okay restaurant stay in business?? Pros: In Brentwood, extensive wine list, little outdoor patio Cons: outdoor dining over looks the parking lot, price too high for the quality you get more

Dissapointed as well as dissatisfied 1/27/2008

I work nearby this establishment and often drive by. I always wanted to visit but, now that I have, I wished I had just kept on ""driving by"". It's too conjested for starters. My wife and I either felt like we were on display or we were in the way of everyone. Our service was mediocre. The gentleman serving us was a little to interested in ""visiting"" one of his other tables than taking quality care of us as well. The wine list was commendable, though. It was quite a nice selection. The prices were a little out of the range they should have been and, I have no dilemma paying for quality. My wife had a linguini dish that was tasty and she enjoyed it. I ordered the special however, and it was bland and not quite ""special"". Basically, I would not endorse this place. more

Disappointing 12/7/2007

I too thought I would give this restaurant a try after reading some great reviews. I will not be going back. Our service was TERRIBLE and the food was just ok and took a really long time. It was a Tuesday night, not crowded at all. It may have been just an off night, but nothing I saw there even remotely makes me want to give it a second chance. Cons: service more

ALWAYS ELEGANCE! 9/29/2007

I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED MY TIME HERE-- IT IS RELAXING AND THE WINE IS LOVELY! Pros: WINE AND MEGAN Cons: SOMETIMES FOOD CAN BE DRY : ( more

Great food, service and friendly atmosphere!!! 1/31/2007

Great Service, the food was wonderful, will definately be back! Brentwood has a jewel with this place! more

Overrated 5/23/2006

I decided to try Wild Iris this evening after seeing the positive reviews on this site. Unfortunately my experience was not what the ratings led me to expect. This place is a bit long on pretense and short on actual performance. It's basically a wannabe Park Cafe. The entrees were hodgepodges of generic foodie-fusion ingredients which were neither particularly fresh nor well prepared. The service was mediocre as were the prices. There may not be many options for fine dining in Brentwood but this is a place to settle for, not look forward to. Pros: prompt seating, wine list Cons: food, service, price vs quality more

Food is great. The choices are unique and fresh. however, the portion sizes are lighter than some restaurants. more

New Orleans cuisine in Brentwood, TN 3/29/2005

The Chef here is superb, She has to have the voodoo magic in her recipes, because I have never eaten this quality of food anywhere else. She is professionally trained in New Orleans and has surpassed the master chefs that she trained under in this art of cooking creations. Anything on the menu and the daily specials are to die for. Some of the current menu items in 3/05 are (Lunch - Red beans and rice, meatloaf w/ mac and cheese) Dinner the Crawfish with filled crepes are unbelieveable. ""The dishes are simple and easy to eat, but memorable."" Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly staff, Cozy more

Bullish on Bistro 4/8/2004

I've eaten lunch at the Wild Iris several times, and the food is usually good to exceptional (and moderately priced). For those that enjoy something lighter, their salads are also very good. Not that there is a lot of competition in the Brentwood area (there's not), I would rate this the best in the area. Pros: consistent food, fast service, moderate prices Cons: , crowded more

Great service and fabulous food! 7/23/2002

I have been to the Wild Iris several times now and every time the food is wonderful .. always something exciting and different to try .. and the service is exceptional. A must try! more
