The Whitney 7/15/2006

This is a restored very large home/castle in Detroit. It has some really neat old furnishings inside and they try to keep all the original old art work, woodwork, and such entact. You can have weddings at the Whitney, or go for dinner, etc... The food is wonderful!!! Parking can be a little difficult sometimes, but you can usually find a spot. Neat old building to see. more

Hisotrical Restaurant 8/27/2005

The restaurant is in a old mansion, and the decoration is just wonderful. I consider it to be the jewel in down town detroit. the food is very good. and environment is very formal, proper attire is required. this is a must go place if you are in detroit. even though it can get expensive, even just going to the third floor, the bar, and have a drink, the experience is worth it. legend has it that the house is haunted. during the summer, they would team up with local radio station and every thursday they would have a cheap garden party where food and drinks are supplied with an entrance fee of $10 more
