After we literally ordered several 6/5/2012

After we literally ordered several dozen rounds, our bill seemed much lower than it should have been. But then again, perhaps the alcohol made the tab all the easier to ""digest."" Still, prices were reasonable and the ambiance was great! The next time I'm in Big D, I'll definitely pop in again for refreshments. more

good job 5/22/2012

Staff was friendly and service was quick! I literally ordered my drink, and moments later I was already on my second margarita. To top it off, their drinks seemed especially refreshing after walking around in sweltering heat at midnight. more

nice 5/8/2012

The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The music is usually chill and they don't play any annoying bs. I've been there with live acts playing Jimmy Buffet and also with the jukebox playing random hits from the past. If you're looking for a low key downtown spot with good people and a chill environment, this is the place. more

great service 5/2/2012

Flat out excellent service every single time! The bathrooms are super clean which is odd for a bar but it's really refreshing. more

Good Time Other Than Weed Deprived Waitress 4/12/2012

So a group of 9 of us stroll into this establishment around midnight after an event at House Of Blues three (3) blocks down the road. We walk-in and there was literally 3 people in the bar playing a video game (Golden Tee?) on a Thursday night. One of them happens to be our eventual waitress. It was apparent from the start that we were inconveniencing her when we asked to sit outside on a beautiful evening. We all sit down in the patio area and all are having a great time. We each ordered 2 rounds of drinks and food (decent for pub fare) with our waitress getting everything from a ""window"" to the bar inside. It was obvious that the scrawny girl was baked/high on something. Things she said were nonsensical. She provided us with a 10 minute warning that they were closing. Fine. She then gave a 3 minute warning and then a 2 minute. Hint received. We all stood up to gather our things and some of us said good bye and thank you. She uttered under her breath DON""T COME HERE AGAIN. We couldn't believe it....especially on a $186 tab where we left the woman a $36 tip. Will not return. Your experience may vary...especially if you tip her with weed. more

West End is like home away from home 4/3/2012

West End is like home away from home; where everybody knows my name and where I can relax with a drink and some great food! Who could ask for more? They have great burgers and even vegans can find something good to eat. Staff is most responsive and make the place fun. It is friendly and welcoming and supply great live entertainment on some nights. more

Now My Favorite Bar 7/11/2011

I agree with Tonyo 1's review. West End Pub is my favorite downtwon bar. It wasn't always, but after trying it again last month with some friends going to the Mavs games I changed my mind. more

Great sandwich and potato salad 8/27/2010

The potato salad is off the chain and great sandwiches. This is easily the best bar downtown. more

horrible place to have anything!! 2/2/2010

To begin, I would like everybody to know what horrible service I had here. My bartenders name was tony and he was the worst!! He wasn't to quick to help when we needed it. And believe me, I heard a ton of people around me complaining about his service, so I know it wasn't only me. He was also very rude and unattentive!! Now the food. Well there's not much can I say, besides that is was just alright. There wasn't much to any of it. Some of the things I tried was bland and some of it was okay. I'm not a food critic, but it definitely needed a little work. Now let's talk about happy hour!! Yeah, not too happy!! They hand out free h'or derves, which I understand why they are free because I wouldn't pay for them either way!!! Also, the seating is crowded and the environment isn't to friendly. I think I can end with saying I will never go there again!! Now, if you are looking for a good area to go out and have drinks or some really excellent food, I suggest going to VICTORY PARK!! It's most definitely victorious there!! Pros: food is alright Cons: worst service ever!! more

Cozy little spot downtown 7/28/2009

I work close by and love going to this place. They have free Hor d ourves for happy hour. Its the best and most comfortable place to have a cocktail downtown that i can think of. Pros: downtown pubby feel Cons: havent found one yet more

nice attractive bar 12/27/2008

the bar was nicely located. The sandwiches were microwaved and not at all appealing. There was not enough meat to fill the large bread. I was disappointed that it was rated the best sandwich in dallas 2008. It may have won since this is the only restaurant in dallas where smoking is allowed. go there for the bar and not the food. more

What a blast! 5/15/2008

I live Downtown and have MANY choices on places to go and we choose the West End Pub. We choose it because everybody REALLY does know your name, there hasn't been a time when we have gone in that the owner or waitress hasn't come up as soon as we walk in and say hi. It's like being a movie star :) I love going to a place that takes such pride in customer service. They have a fantastic happy hour and the drinks are not only a great price, but a great drink if you know what I mean. My boyfriend is a margarita pro and I am pleased to say that he chooses the west End Pub over the MANY mexican restaurant choices we have for a margarita in Downtown. They also have a FREE buffett for happy hour with food that we BOTH like. I really have NOTHING bad to say about this place. Try the couch by the window if there is a open seat, it's also a great place to people watch. They have a HUGE seating area that you don't see in this picture so go with 20 of your best friends, they can accomodate you in a heartbeat! Yeah West end pub! We LOVE YOU GUYS! Pros: THE BEST Place in Downtown AND the West end! Cons: none! not a one! more

Friendliest Bar and Best Margarita's and Martini's 5/13/2008

The West End Pub is my favorite bar to hang out in after work. I felt this way the first time I went to the pub, right after I moved to Dallas. I went in not knowing anyone and soon found out the people at the Pub don't let you be alone for long. The bartender and the ""regulars"" at the bar include everyone at the bar in their conversations and make it point to learn your name, where your from and when you will back (the bartenders even remember what you drink). It is just that friendly. On top of being friendly, their margaritas and martini's are the best. The bartender says the margarita's are made from scratch, no premade mix here. They even fresh squeeze the lime juice. Then there are the martini's...they are huge and in a glass that is always cold. Try the PUBTINI...it's one of my favorites. If you have a group of people just wanting to kick back, they have ""living rooms"" with big. comfy leather couches and chairs. Its a great place to meet up with your friends and hang out. Pros: Drink sizes are big; People and staff are very friendly; Comfortable and Unpretentious Cons: Can get loud at times more

Everyone's bar 2/12/2008

I stumbled across this establishment years ago and immediately enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere. As a scotch drinker, I found the selection to be impressive and the staff very knowledgeable (I wonder how they got so experienced?). But, the great thing about this pub is that's only one of its features. Whether your a sports fan (free shuttle to the Stars/Mavs games at the AAC) or a music fan (same free shuttle for music and other shows) and live music of a great variety on weekends; a smoker (imported cigar selections) or a non-smoker (electrostatic smoke control devices throughout the Pub); or just like a comfortable atmosphere for eating (the Pub fare is simple but well-prepared), reading, visiting, or lounging (great! leather sofas and chairs in ""the living room""), this place seems to fit the bill. Go! Enjoy! Pros: Great Scotches Cons: It can get loud more

My favorite downtown spot for years. 2/10/2008

This is the best pub in Dallas. more

Great Neighborhood Bar 2/6/2008

This is a very friendly neighborhood bar. I started going for the games (Both Stars and Mavericks) because they have a great shuttle bus to the games. The shuttle also goes to concerts at the American Airlines Center. They have great drinks, a friendly crowd and a nice happy hour buffet. The staff is friendly helpful and entertaining. I have made a great many friends at the West End Pub. It also as a great view of downtown Dallas out of its large windows. Pros: Great drinks, great shuttle to the games, friendly patrons and staff Cons: Smoking bar (but not too smoky) more

Great Neighborhood Pub! 2/6/2008

We have been going to the Pub for a long time...fifteen years! We keep coming back because the staff is fast, fun and funny. We always meet interesting people and love to pass the time making new friends. The ""regulars"" are engaging, too. The Pub has single malts and cigars. Great combination! When we go to an event at the AAC, we always use the Pub's free shuttle. So easy to get there and back. Great perk! more

Absolutely the BEST Pub in the DFW area!!!! 2/6/2008

The West End Pub has, without a doubt, the BEST Service; BEST Ambience; BEST People; BEST Value you'll find anywhere in the DFW area. What more can you ask for??? Pros: Service; Ambience; People; Value Cons: Absolutely NONE more

Everything you could want in a pub this side of the pond! 2/5/2008

We were introduced to ""THE PUB"" by friends and we're glad they did. Though we don't make the trek downtown as often as we'd like, we're always welcomed like long-lost friends. It's location in the heart of the historic West End makes it the perfect meeting place before a game or cultural event or for just relaxing with friends. more

Good People 2/5/2008

Easily the best single malt bar in town. Wait staff is friendly and remembers their customers. The regulars help first timers feel at home. Food is good, especially the chicken salad and home made soups. (Try the baked potato soup and the cheezy potato.) Wi-fi is a bonus. The Pub is a bunch of good people (regulars and staff). more
