Disappointing compared with other bases 11/11/2005

I only go because it's the closest base to me. When compared to other military bases, such as Pearl Harbor, MCRD San Diego, Camp Pendleton, Hickam AFB, etc, Ft. Benning is rather disappointing. The exchange has limited merchandise. The service is unpredictable. The commissary is nice though. There is an arcade with not nearly enough games. The beauty shop is top notch. There are a variety of vendors offering a variety of things. There is a Burger King and a few other places to eat but the variety is, once again, substandard. PROS: great beauty shop. helpful travel office CONS: doesn't hold up when compared to other bases. more
