Everything we expected !!! 11/22/2008

Whenever we're looking at a new place to eat, like everyone we look at the sorroundings wait time price , etc, We found the Top of the World to be very nice inside, the view outside was spectacular, and the food however very pricey was excellent. The cuts of meat were perfect. And the seafood was out of the ocean that morning it seemed. We dont mind paying high prices for good food, and this was some of the best we'd ever had, and we've eaten at some very upscale resturants over the past 31 years together. Our meal at the Top of the World was an anniversary dinner, which we enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end. more

Disappointed 10/23/2008

Sitting in the lounge was good with the service being what you'd expect. The view of course was great, however my wife found it difficult to find anything to eat and settled for a $12 bowl of soup with little chicken in it. I ordered a ribeye and was a little surprised for $48.00 that it came with nothing else. A potatoe cost an additional $12.00. The cut of meat was excellent and the first 2 bites were good. After that however the rest had very little flavor. I think the waiter figured out our check wasn't going to be that big so we really didn't see him until it was time to get the check and he never asked us about our meal. Also we had a reservation for 6:45 and they'll tell you it can run as much as 15 minutes late. We arrived at 6:15 and were told it would be atleast 7:15 before our table would be ready. more

Great view, decent food 7/29/2008

We made spur-of-the-moment lunch reservations last Saturday while in Vegas for the weekend, as we had heard that the view was great and the food was to die for. When we arrived, we were surprised to find a security checkpoint, but I guess you can't be too careful these days. We took a quick elevator ride to the restaurant, and were promptly seated. The view was just incredible--the rotating restaurant took a little bit of getting used to, and it took my date about 5 minutes to overcome her initial vertigo, but it was the highlight of our afternoon. Our waitress (Jeanne from Long Island) was very kind and personable, and when we couldn't decide between getting the Tower Salad or an appetizer, she helpfully recommended that we split a salad and get an appetizer as well. When the salad arrived on two smaller plates, we were amazed at the quantity of salad--there was plenty for both of us. The salad included Mixed greens with Anjou pears, apricots, candied walnuts and Balsamic vinaigrette. It was good, but nothing spectacular. This was followed by the Kobe Carpaccio (thin sliced beef served with Reggiano cheese and fresh greens). The Reggiano was to die for, but the beef lacked flavor and the fresh greens seemed superfluous. The entrees were good, not fantastic (but perhaps this was due to the fact that it was lunch, and many restaurants don't have their best staff on hand midday). The Prime Rib was served with Au Jus and creamy horseradish sauce, and was very flavorful and cooked just right. The potatoes were dry, and the vegetables flavorless. My date had the Filet Mignon, which was very tender and nicely flavored with the lemon butter caper sauce and two shrimp. It was served on a bed of greens, which seemed to be a strange choice. We enjoyed the Chocolate brownie trio, which was trio of white, milk and dark chocolate brownies on vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate and caramel sauces - the brownies were a little bit dry, but tasty. Give it a try, enjoy the view!! Pros: Beautiful and unique view of Vegas, great service, nice setting Cons: Decent food, just not spectacular. Could kick it up a notch. more

Great restaurant! A+++ 3/12/2008

My husband and I ate here 6 years ago and we absolutely loved it!! We are going to Vegas again in June and we are planning on eating here again. You get beautiful views of Vegas as the restaurant revolves around and the food is spectacular! It is pricey but you get what you pay for! They even have a photographer that will take your picture, for an extra cost of course, but it comes in a nice presentation with two pictures to choose! If you want great food, great views and great service, I recommend this restaurant!! more

Million Dollar Views of Las Vegas 10/3/2007

Excellent Service, good food, and the best views of Las Vegas is what you will get at this fine establishment over 100 stories above the Las Vegas Strip. The restaurant revolves as you dine. It is pricey but well worth it. Save room for dessert. Pros: Excellent Views, Excellent Service Cons: A bit pricey more

Food is very very pricey. Be prepared to spend loads of money. 4/25/2007

The view says it all! Very beautiful, especially at night. The resturaunt itself revolved which made it very enjoyable. Nice quiet atmosphere. Service was good. Some of the waiters are a little put out at times and seem irritated whe they don't "sell you the wine" The food is very good and well prepared. The servings are very generous but the pricing is extremely high. Not sure if it is due to the spectacular view but just a little too pricey. But having been there and experienced it, the view, in itself, made it worth it. more

very good view 11/18/2006

So here you are paying for the view which is excellent. You can't beat a better place to see the strip at night, unless you are taking a helicopter tour. The food was ok, not too memorable, but good. The service was good as well, but the best part and why I will go back there is for the strip view at night. Pros: The View!!! more

Great place for a romantic evening. 11/13/2006

My boyfriend and I went to Las Vegas recently and he took me here. The place was great. We sat down by the window so we got to see all of Las Vegas all night, the food was great, the service was great and the portions are huge. I would highly reccomend this place but if you can split an entree. Pros: Great ambience Cons: Too much food. more

asiplease 8/29/2006

Lunch at Top of the World with grandkids ages 17 and 12 was a sensation August 29. The kids loved it, the revolving view, the excellent food and service. Recommend for teens and pre-teens. They appreciate it. more

Pay for the View 5/1/2006

The View is wonderful. The food was good not fantastic. You are paying for the view. Our salads were very tasty and our steak was good. The dessert Stratosphere is just average at best. Our waitress was very attentive and the food came quickly. I have seen the view and would recommend you go for the view at least once. Pros: View Cons: price more

Great view, High prices, horrible food. 4/25/2006

I would highly recommend you go there, grab a drink and maybe one appetizer and hang out. If you get a table and order the food you will be disappointed, unless you like food that tastes like microwave fare at 30-50 a plate, like waiting 30 mintues and service that takes 80 minutes at least. This is the comments from the dinners in my party. The pork was worthless, the halibut was tasteless the rack of lamb was "whatever" and the prime rib is big and bland. Pros: view Cons: food, price, service more

Big View-Big Bucks 4/10/2006

We ate here on March 30, 2006 before the Barry Manilow show, nice experience. Do not get the dinner for two, the wine pairings however were very enjoyable and worth the money. Great service, great view, bring your gambling money, we will be back. Pros: view, food, service Cons: $$$$ more

Proposal 3/2/2006

My fiance proposed to me at the Top of the World... very romantic... beautiful views, excellent food, wine and service. We sat in one of the booths facing the windows, which I think would be the best spot. more

Highly Recommended 12/19/2005

I spent my anniversary at The Top of the World Restaurant, we had a lovely time. The service was great, our waiter, John (from New Jersey) was great. He helped made the evening enjoyable. We took pictures which turned out reallt great. The evening started a little slow because there was an emergency & we were seated a little late, however, the evening was still great! The food was well prepared and tasted very good, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a celebrating a very romantic evening - it'll be one you'll never forget. (Thanks John) Pros: good parking, great service, awesome view Cons: dresscode s/b enforce, limited selections, expensive more

Sky High Service 12/4/2005

I was very impressed with the quality of the food and service. Although Men should wear Jackets or button collor shirts and women should be nicely and properly dressed. My husband and I were very dissapointed when we saw a younger couple looking "very" under dressed and allowed in during August of 05. Pros: Great food, Great Service, Romantic Atm. Cons: Dresscode not inforcd more

Good view, average food, bad service 11/11/2005

I have been to this place several times with my family and friends (whenever they visit Las Vegas). Now that I have taken everyone there once, it is safe to say that I will *NOT* be returning. I took people there for the experience and the view, the food has always just been average, but the big turn-off was the service, which seems to be getting worse and worse. The last time I was there (with a reservation), my party and I still waited 40 minutes to be seated, and it took more than 90 minutes to get our food. We were very close to leaving the place. It does have a nice atmosphere and view, but sadly, the service is getting so bad that I have written a letter to them clearly stating that I will not return. Pros: view, dessert Cons: poor service more

Worst Place Ever 9/21/2005

The ONLY thing this place has is a view. The food is overpriced and tastes horrible. Our service was the worst. Pros: view Cons: service, food quality more

The view was great 9/5/2005

The view is breathtaking, but the food is mediocre. There are better restaurants in this price range. We ordered the dinner for two and the Chateubriand consisted of 4 slices of meat each, 2 carmelized onions, 3 baby potatoes and 2 asparagus spears. Unfortunately, the food was a bit cold. The dessert was very good. Our server was understanding and pleasant when two members of our party were unexpectedly held up. We all began with a first course and a bottle of wine while to compensate. Near the end of the meal we witnessed the manager directing him to hurry us along. In my opinion, whenever a table is going to drop $700 on a meal they should be able to take as long as they want. Our server told us to nevermind that and take our time, but at that point we just wanted to wrap things up. Pros: View, View, View Cons: Food Quality, Value more

The best there is!!! 7/11/2005

My boyfriend took me to the Top of the World for the first time. I loved it. I was in heaven with the breath takeing view. We got there when it was still light out but got to see the sun set and everything. The food is amazing, the best that I have ever had and worth every penny. The drinks were good to. Besides the view the thing I like the most about this restruant it that I did not feel rushed by the servers. They will not put in your order for your next course until you are done with the first one or until you ask them to. I love that!! That was a dinner that I will never forget and hope to go back to real soon. Pros: View, Service, Food more

  • In Short
Perched on the hotel's 106th floor, this revolving restaurant draws tourists and locals for its magnificent view. The vista isn't the only selling point: Along with an award-winning wine list, the restaurant dishes up masterfully presented American cuisine. The meaty rack of lamb is served in a rich, garlicky curry sauce, while the pan-seared sea bass is flavored with zesty lemon truffle oil. For dessert, there's the warm banana tart with vanilla-bean ice cream and caramel.
