Irish Pub in Chapel Hill 4/16/2006

Yeats is a fun Irish bar, but you can also get food there. My friends and I watched the National Championship there, and it was great, close to Franklin Street and there was no line! Also, if you have friends under 21 who can't drink, they can still go in and hang out. more

Irish pubs! 4/3/2006

Yeats is a small Irish pub located behind Avalon. Despite the sketchiness of Avalon, Yeates is a great place to go for drinking, eating, or watching a game. Although it can be a little over priced in terms of food, the beer selection is great. They also have live music fairly often, with local bands. more

Great hang out! 9/12/2005

WB Yeats is a great place to hang out with a few friends while enjoying a nice pint! It's got the feel of an authentic Irish pub, with the dark wood interior, but it's right on Franklin Street! Yeats is a nice change from the typical bars on Franklin Street. It's a very laid-back atmosphere, sometimes with live music. It can get a bit crowded when there's a band, so be prepared for that. The prices are pretty reasonable. more

Picturesque Irish Pub 8/28/2005

WB Yeats is a hidden gem on Franklin Street. A few blocks down from the rest of the busy restaurants, Yeats is tucked away behind a few other businesses so that it can be hard to spot from the street. Once you find it, however, you can't help but keep coming back. Offering a nice selection of food and spirits, Yeats has the gritty charm of authenticity. The Guinness stew and potato soup are particularly fine, and the burgers are fantastic. The atmosphere is casual, with a dark wooden interior that definitely makes it a "pub" rather than just a bar. It's one of my favorite lunch spots on Franklin Street. more

Neighborhood Irish Pub 8/12/2005

WB Yeats is probably the best Irish pub I've ever been to-- the atmosphere is very comforting. It is definitely not upscale, but it's also not grimy. It has a very cozy feel, with private spaces and little nooks. There is a lot of different beer as well as other drinks. This is a great place to go with a group. They also have live music later at night, much of which is pretty good. It can draw a huge crowd for some of these shows. more
