I rented a bike here a few weeks ago when my personal bike was stolen. The guy at the counter was pretty rude and hurried me along. He didn't seem to know anything about bikes - and was dressed in a corporate outfit (pants jacked up to his armpits) - so maybe he was subbing in? Anyway, a bike shop should have someone who knows what they are talking about and can reccomend or get a person onto the right bike. I rented the bike, but felt very uncomfortable, especially when he was more attentive to the brunette in a tight tank top asking questions about bike rentals. When I returned my bike, a middle-aged lady was there - but she wasn't very friendly either. Weird place....
