So much fun!!! 9/4/2011

We bought a LivingSocial deal for a 4 hour bike rental. I called a couple of times to see if we could use it during Labor Day. I never really heard back from anyone that we could or couldn't....so I finally just made a reservation. We arrived a bit early and they were oh-so-incredibly-friendly! They gave us these great maps of the city and showed us where it was best to ride. And since we are ""old"" and have desk jobs, told us where it was also flat to ride. :) They gave us options for helmets and bike locks and fitted the bikes to us. The bikes were VERY easy to handle and very easy to ride and use. They gave us a few instructions about brakes and gears and off we went! ohmygosh....so very much fun!!! We rode and rode and rode all over town for four hours! It is definitely one of those hidden secrets of things-to-do in Portland. Such a beautiful city and a terrific way to spend a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon! Thank you Bike People for giving us such a terrific day! We'll see you again VERY soon! more

Superior customer service, excellant bicycles! 7/23/2011

In one of those ""pick up the phone and just do it or you never will"" moments, I called late on Friday dreading that I would end up with a bicycle that I couldn more

THEY HAVE MOVED 7/13/2008

Waterfront Bicycles is no longer located at 315 SW Montgomery in the River Place hotel/marina. Now they are at 10 SW Ash, although their storefront faces Naito Parkway and Tom McCall Waterfront Park. The new location is two blocks south of Burnside bridge and the Saturday Market. more

Really Rude Service 5/18/2007

I rented a bike here a few weeks ago when my personal bike was stolen. The guy at the counter was pretty rude and hurried me along. He didn't seem to know anything about bikes - and was dressed in a corporate outfit (pants jacked up to his armpits) - so maybe he was subbing in? Anyway, a bike shop should have someone who knows what they are talking about and can reccomend or get a person onto the right bike. I rented the bike, but felt very uncomfortable, especially when he was more attentive to the brunette in a tight tank top asking questions about bike rentals. When I returned my bike, a middle-aged lady was there - but she wasn't very friendly either. Weird place.... Pros: Location Cons: Staff, Knowledge more
