Visited Washington Capital for a loan modification about 3 weeks ago while Serge was on vacation and so I had to meet Roni, (his brother). He took a look at my case and accepted to take care of the modification, however, asked me to pay $3000 in advance from which 25% or $750 would have been none refundable and that regardless of the outcome. I explained my financial situation and after I said I have to walk because I cannot pay them in advance, we agreed upon paying the entire modification expenses at the end.
Two weeks later, I sent an email to his assistance Artin and asked for a progress report; I sent another email two days later after I did not receive a response to my first email. The next day I called and left a message for him after both my emails remained unanswered, but again no call back, finally called and spoke to the receptionist who was very nice and surprised; she promised to ask Artin to contact me; 30 minutes later I received an email from Artin saying “I have left you couple of voicemails stating that we would need our fees to get the work started” . I responded and referred him to my conversation with Roni and the agreement we met, in addition, he had my email address and could have contacted me via email……again no response whatsoever for another day, I called again and spoke to the receptionist who promised to ask Roni or Serge to call me. No call from Serge or Roni, so the next day I went to their office and met Serge who interrupted me when I tried to explain what I had gone true and insisted to get paid in advance as if I was there for the first time with no apologies whatsoever. At this point I asked for all my paperwork and left their office.
I think what they did to me was ethically wrong if not illegal, so I will never recommend them to anybody.
I still wonder though if people like me who haven’t paid them in advance don’t get a response and treatment that they deserve, how does it work for those who have paid them in full and in advance?
