Ward was a friend before he was my Hairdresser. When he first started out, here in Portland, I had the honor of being his very first customer. The rest is history!! I left him a couple of times, because I hate to drive in the city. Both times I came back. So, now Ward is stuck with me. I love the way he cuts and styles my hair. But the most amazing thing he's done is bring it back to it's natural self - revitalized my hair from years of bleaching and coloring. He is a fantastic stylist, and I love him!! Visiting Ward to get my hair cut and styled is always a wonderful experience. He takes the time to listen to your likes/dislikes, lifestyle and comes up with a cut/style that works for you. His Flying Shears technique is amazing. I've watched Ward with other clients and he makes everyone feel special. You walk away feeling as if you were the most important person -- and you are while he is working on your hair. Ward's business card says that he ""specializes in cuts, colors, and listening"" -- this is 100% true. From my first haircut with Ward he got it exactly right -- he really paid attention to what I was looking for, and did a wonderful job. I recently decided to try coloring my hair -- again Ward got it exactly right. He has a great eye and a real knack for asking questions to pinpoint what you want, so that by the time he starts the cut or color, you know just what to expect. I have been going to Ward for my all of my hair needs cuts, coloring, pampering and products for 30 years now I don?t trust anyone else. Ward listens to my needs he really hears me; I have strayed a few times and paid the price! The last time the stylist made the remark that he loves to cut curly hair because you just can?t mess it up. Boy was he wrong thank God Ward fit me in right away I only had to wear a hat for a day. I was blessed with lots and lots of curly hair that intimidates most stylist but not Ward he just dives in and takes care of business. I work in a very stressful work environment so going to get my hair done is a great way to unwind. When I walk out of his shop I feel like a million bucks, sitting in the chair I get pampered and he refills my spirit. I love the new shop when he was at Dezi Salon it was a different experience it was good, but the new shop has such a feeling of peace and good energy it just feels kind of Zen no negative energy at all. I love to go for my haircut appointment; it's such a treat! Ward cuts my hair dry and does a fabulous job introducing me to new ways of styling my hair and styles complimentory to my face. He is flexible making changes after the haircut. I love the location where his new shop is, what a perfect spot! I have a huge head of curly hair and the first time I went to Ward, I had it all smooth & straightened. Next time I went to see him, I went all curly and natural to see what he does with it. 1st time I went to see Ward, he was at Dezi Salon. He made my feel like a million bucks! Took the time to know what needed to be done, as I had never been into a salon before. I was thrilled to see Ward in his new location. Great parking for NW PDX. But more than that he is best colorist I have ever seen and without a doubt, is a master with scissors. When I read all the reviews on him from the Dezi Salon site I thought they were a little overblown. After giving up on ever having a great haircut, I found Ward. Not only is he incredibly talented, he is very kind and gracious. He has always rearranged his schedule to fit me in when it is convenient for me, even if it means that he has to give up his lunch break or work later than he had planned. He treats me as if I am the most important personal in the world, taking the time to listen to me and find out what I really want, even though he has many clients and a tight schedule.\r \r Anyway, I've had three really great hair cuts, and I plan to go back to him as long has he's in the business.\r \r Thank you, Ward, for making my hair look amazing!
