I've been a huge fan of this place ever since they first opened. However, with new Executive Chef Tom Landers, owners Kevin & Ingrid Howard have really taken the place to a whole...

The Best Wine Bar in town by far 6/21/2007

My friend recommended this place to me and I couldn't be happier that I listened to his advice. Like him, I was tired of what Charlotte had to offer in the way of wine bars. Most places are either overpriced, too loud, or the food missesdthe mark. Vintage delivers on all fronts. The selections on the wine list are fantastic and reasonable, the food is AWESOME and freshly made in house, and the decor is very comfortable and sleek. We really loved the mix and match flight option on the menu. You can mix up to any 4 wines on the menu and make a "flight" out of it. What is unique is the way that Vintage presents the flight to you. It comes in a "flight tray" with 4 small glasses lined up beside each other with descriptions spelled out for each. Very clever. The food is fantastic and is great as a snack or as a full meal. We loved the bruschetta options, all 8 of them. Some of our favorites were the Roasted Red Pepper suffed with Garlic Goat Cheese, Wild Mushroom Pesto, Smoked Salmon Mousse, and the Brie, Apple & Fig Spread. We also shared a Vintage Roast Beef Panini that was out of this world and served on freshly baked bread. Finally, after dinner, we checked out the retail store for a bottle to take home. The organization is awesome and the selection is top notch. We loved the display of the "Top 15 under 15" and the climate controlled cellar with over 75 types of wine. This place is polished, friendly, and the perfect place to enjoy some great wine. This is how a Wine Experience should be. Oh, did I mention the prices are very reasonable. I love this place! more

My wife and I have been in on a couple of occasions and have fell in love. Great wines by the glass, awesome service, perfect atomsphere and the food is absolutely amazing. Its great to finally go into a wine bar/wine shop and feel appreciated. Also, I was able to add some wines to my cellar that I haven't been able to find around town. Do yourself a favor and check this hip spot out. more

  • In Short
Serving as a vintage wine cellar and cafe, locals can enjoy a glass of wine while dining on tapas, salads, sandwiches, paninis and desserts. A large selection of wine is featured by the glass or bottle and guests can choose from a list of red or white wines. Inside, guests make their way through the wine shop, cafe and lounge. Armchairs, a flat panel TV and couches make up the lounge area. About a dozen tables fill the cafe and on a sunny day, guests can opt for outdoor seating. A fun, welcoming and educational wine experience keep locals coming back.
