Best

wow. soooo good we have tried many Italian restaurants and this was very authentic and the staff was very attentive and nice, made jokes. we left feeling satisfied and not over fu...

Worst

First off...if you notice the dates of the reviews it seems like Vino's has gone way down hill since last year!!! They don't lie!! My fiance & I were new to the area & had driven ...

Don't waste your time...or their's! 1/21/2007

...""a cozy and romanitc dining experience that won't soon be forgotten"", as stated on their website is at the least half accurate becuase I will NEVER forget it! After sitting down we should have been asked if we'd like to indulge in some wine, instead, we had to ask and when we did our server took it upon himself to bring what he thought was a better quality wine and not what we asked for. You better look at their menu online and know what you want before you go there or you will be treated like you're wasting their time.""Do you know what you're having to eat because it would make it a lot easier on us if you did"", is excactly what we overheard him say to the table next to us. After taking our order he recommended an appetizer for all 5 of us; it consisted of 1 prawn, 1 piece of tomato, 1 piece of cheese, and 1 piece of bruchetta for each person, and it wasn't appetizing to see on the check it cost us $50 for just the appetizers. Our food was delivered promptly and it was really good, that I will say.We had to ask them to box up our food, they never offered, along with the coffee, tea, or dessert that we should've been offered. Our waiter told me he was bringing something out for my dad's birthday, which we were celebrating; I had asked him for a piece of cheesecake, but just like the wine, he took it upon himself to bring out a piece of tiramisu, a scoop of chocolate ice cream, and this meringue thing that might as well been a sponge. It was terrible, & I was charged $14 for something I didn't even ask for. While we were finishing up the ice cream, the waiter came back with a busser and said loudly with intent, ""We need to set this table for 6 "", which was our cue to leave on their request and we're more than happy to oblige. A definate waste of $183, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if it were the only one open during the next windstorm when the power goes out. And our rude waiter, come to find out was part-owner! What a way to gain loyal customers :( !!!! Pros: Food is good Cons: Service was terrible more

Italian cuisine is forever diminished 12/17/2006

We decided to find some good authentic Italian food after being stranded in Seattle all week and by proximity found Vino's in Renton. We were seated fairly quickly but it was all downhill from there.I'm used to getting the worst table in the house being a long haired ,bearded, and large truck driver so as usual we were seated at the most out of the way table available and sumarily forgotten about. After a while we received water to keep us from dying of dehydration then were abandoned again. When someone finally got around to taking our order I guess they assumed by my appearance that ANY wine would be wasted on me since no recommendations were offered and no inquiry was made if we wanted any. I travel all over this country and one of things i enjoy the best is to try cuisine from all corners of the US. The soup was bland and tepid. The presentation of the prosciutto appetizer was basically room temperature lunch meat thrown at a cold plate from across the room. My rigatoni salcchia could have very well come from a Chef Boyardee can and her spaghetti bolognese had a flavor I can only compare to canned dogfood. Her hot tea never arrived after multple requests and another couple that was quarantined in the same alcove we were never received their food by the time we left two and a half hours later even though their order was taken immediately after ours. After not receiving the check more than thirty minutes after I asked for it I went downstairs and was forced to wait and listen to rude comments because I didn't have the patience to wait for them to bring me my check. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but service aside ... if you feel the food is worth recommending at Vino's then you need to get out more. more

Big Night in Renton 11/26/2006

Tonight we circled this saffron-colored 1920's house looking for clues like a couple of foodie-stalkers, taking in the kitchen, floor staff & a scarce view of the dining areas before deciding to take the plunge... Would this be yet another disappointing I-talian American restaurant that looks promising on paper but leaves you thinking Liberace could have done better? The cheesy Andrea Bocelli soundtrack detracted slightly, as well as plastic flower-filled urns & mirrors--but the food--a mama mia for sure. Pros: Don't overlook the southend for some of the best dining values Cons: Don't expect Belltown glitz more

Whatever happened to customer service?? 11/5/2006

We were made to feel very uncomfortable if we dared question any part of our meal. We don't need to pay for abuse. Pros: parking, location Cons: arrogant wait staff more

I VETO Vino's (Horrible Service, and food isn't that great, save your money!!!) 8/22/2006

My friends and I (group of six) went to Vino's in Renton on 8/22/06. The food was okay but the service was the ABSOLUTE WORST. When asked by our waiter how we liked our food, my friend politely said she didn't care for their lasagna. When she asked for something else, they told us no then commented ""we don't give away meals in here."" When we asked for the manager/owner, he was completely rude and said that he's ""served that dish 100's of times and everyone has loved it."" Then he said to my friend she just doesn't care for the taste and that the serve ""real Italian food."" After much debate he finally got her another dish. Not only that but our waiter was very rude when it came to the bill and brought us a calculator if we wanted to separate the bill. I have gone to an assortment of restaurants and I've had better service at a Denny's then this place. I veto Vino's! Dont GO! Save your anger, and money. The food isn't very good. Pros: okay ambiance Cons: horrible service, unprofessional managment, food isn't that good for the $ more

Viva Italia! Viva Vino! 5/11/2006

You can't go wrong at this amazing Italian Restaurant in Renton. The owner, Joel, is a joy to spend the evening with. He ALWAYS knows what I want for dinner. This one night I went in wanting a pizza, and unfortunately the pizza oven was out of service that night. So I thought I'd settle for their cheese ravioli that I hadn't tried. He looked at me and said, ""That's not what you want...you know what I will make for you. A shrip stuffed ravioli in a light seafood cream sauce. It's perfect, you'll love it!"" And he was right. It was exactly what I wanted for dinner that night. I urge anyone who loves authentic Italian food to give this hidden treasure a try. Buon Apetito! more

That's Italian! 3/27/2006

We celebrated my mother's b-day at Vino's. The food is the best traditional italian food around. The maitre d' provided excellent service and an enjoyable dining experience. His warm, italian hospitality, along with the restaurant's atmosphere in a 1920's 2-story house, was reminiscent of experiences I had when I was in Italy. If you need someplace special for dinner, you can't go wrong at Vino's. more

Awesome italian food... 1/23/2006

The food and the experience was great. The food is easily as good as anything we've experienced in Seattle, New York, or Vancouver (BC). It's a cozy place you'd not want to miss. In Renton, who'd have thought. more
