Vino Vixens

I knew the original owner of Vino Vixens, and she was cool. I went to a b-day party there, and also decided to have my company party there as well and we had an awesome time. A few years later, I'm at a different job, and unbeknownst to me, Vixens has a new owner. I scheduled the party, and it had gotten way more expensive, which didn't surprise me. If we did not spend a certain amount of money on alcohol, we would need to pay a rental fee. NO WHERE ON THE WEBSITE, OR AT ANYTIME WAS I TOLD THAT IT MATTERED WHAT TIME I PURCHASED THE ALCOHOL. So my boss tells me if we don't meet the minimum, to just buy enough wine to get us there, and of course pay the corkage fees. We were using a small room in the back, and most people only stayed a couple of hours. There was a band in the main room, and it was full of patrons. I got the feeling something was going on when I went to check out. The manager said the owner told him to call her when I was checking out. He said she wanted to talk to me, and she was really upset and basically started telling me I had lost her business that night, and she would not let me purchase the wine to meet the minimum, that I would have to pay the fee. I of course was pissed, and told her I wouldn't be recommending her to anyone. Her answer was, so I have to make you happy? Well, yeah, that's kind of what the service industry is about??? How was I losing her business when the place was full of patrons, buying merchandise and hanging out. So anyway, I said ""Whatever"", and hung up, checked out, and me a few coworkers decided to hang out and play pool. Now the fun part comes. Wait for it.\r \r SHE ACTUALLY COMES IN, WHEN WE ARE STILL AT THE PARTY, AND CONFRONTS ME. Yep, and I was so not happy with her. I'm trying to explain to her that I am trying to have a good time at my company's Christmas party, that I worked very hard to plan, and she's just not getting it. She wants to talk to me and she will not leave. And when I ask her to leave us alone so we can finish our party, she said ""I own the place, I don't have to leave."" Also, she keeps talking about how she is really hard of hearing. What does that have to do with you coming to confront a customer during a party? That's being stupid, not hard of hearing. Let your managers run the business!!! That's what you pay them to do, and they were doing a great job. So I tell her where to go, and my husband and I leave. \r \r THANKS a lot for one of the worst parties every! Needless to say I have been ruined from every planning another party for my company. more

Great place to either grab a bottle of wine and head home or just pop it open there. They have a back room with super comfy couches to sit and enjoy your wine. Don't expect to get waited on, it's not that kind of place. Make youself at home and enjoy your wine!!! more

Three strikes and your out - I have tried this place 3 times. The first 2 times the service was so terrible I left. Last night I had to stay for a birthday and once again they proved to even nastier than the first 2 times. They did not have any of the wine that showed on their paper list at the bar until I finally settled on a glass that I did not ask for just so I could stop the painful conversation with jack*** behind the bar. I mean $9.00 for a glass Pinot Grigio on SE Powell - get over yourself. To top off the evening on our way out - someone who I believe (never said for sure) is part owner asked us if we get pulled over say we were coming from Noble R*t. Although his statement fell short when we told him we were huge fans of Noble R*t (they wont let me say the word on this page so please replace the * in R*t to an o and you got the correct name) and boy did he back track and claiming they were good friends with the Noble R*t owners - friends until they become the competition I guess. The moral of this story is unless you like being served overprice wine by to cool for school d*ck heads DON'T GO to Vino Vixens and try the wonderful, customer pleasing, fantastic food and location of Noble R*t. more

What a great little place. It is kind of hard to picture where it is, but once you find it, you will remember it. We held a birthday party their for my wife this weekend, and everyone was so impressed with what a great, funky little place it was. Now I may say little, but we had 35 guests there and they made us feel like we owned the place, but there was still another birthday party on the other side so we definately didn't max it out. \r Plenty of comfortable couches, seating nooks and such so the crowd can separate out as they please. Greg set up a nice bar area for our wine and beer, and even set up some tables for us to bring in food from Costco to serve up in a buffet line. \r We planned this about a month ago, trying various wines and they helped us pick out crowd pleasing wines in our price range, provided them for us there, and even let us hook up our Ipod to their stereo so we could choose the music mix. \r All said and done, whether planning a group of 50 or 5, or maybe just looking for a simple bottle of wine to take home with you, Vino Vixens is a first rate choice.\r I encourage you to do a little searching, find that ""nondescript strip mall"" and make yourself at home.\r Thanks to Greg, and everyone at Vino Vixens, to help make our party a smashing success.\r Pros: Central location, staff, layout, atmosphere and wine selection Cons: parking is a little tight, and it is kind of tough to find. more

My sister and I checked out Vino Vixens the other night and we both really liked it. The location is odd, kind of hard to tell where it is exactly in the strip mall (their sign isn't really over the door you enter through). Inside we were really surprised - the front is a wine bar and pretty decent wine shop. There were a good number of wines by the glass to choose from and all we tried were really good. The back goes on & on.....There are tons of seating areas, couches, etc. and a big-screened tv - kind of feels like a big living room. There is a pool table and foos ball table in an adjoining room. Their location is the only draw back, but might not be too crowded on the weekends, especially if you have a big group. Nice to see a wine bar that you can actually have some fun at. Pros: Good wines by the glass, foosball! Cons: Location - strip mall on Powell. more

Nice big space, with plenty of spots to tuck yourself in for a great glass of wine.\r The location is a bit odd, but once inside it is easy to forget. Pros: Lots of room to move, good for large groups or small. more
