Village Restaurant is a great restaurant. It's like going to your favorite uncle's house who perpetually knows and cooks your favorite food, but with the focus of a chef. Village is a neighborhood haunt. It's great for singles, couples and groups of friends. There is a bar menu for those who are regulars and have their favorites and then there is the menu that is lovingly created by the owner, Steve, who is a remarkable chef and has an amazing talent and a deep love of french nuances (He's a James Beard chef!). Sit at the bar a few times and you'll see, from the friendly and discrete barkeeps why people come back. \r

The other reason people return is the food: The bar menu includes: omelettes, hamburgers (perfection), salmon/tuna burgers (perfection), salads (perfect dressing) and the fries. The fries are amazing. I cannot say anything more. The main menu is also quite stunning in its choices and simplicity. Steve's ability to capture the essence of the meat, fish, vegetables, soups and pastas speaks of a real talent. Don't let the ""Village"", relaxed feel fool you. There's very good eating at this restaurant. Check it out. Go and try something different ever visit. It's worth it.
