This place is great if you want excellent food at very reasonable prices. We were sick of the chain restaurants and after trying Village Gourmet, we celebrate most of our special occasions there. The place is cozy, so you may or may not like it; I find it charming. Because of Rutherford's BYOB rule, the in-house wine store is convenient but ironic. Only 1/2 complaint is that there is one waitress we cross our fingers not to get. All other waitstaff has been friendly and attentive. DO NOT MISS THIS GEM 8/18/2003

The food is always unbeleivable. Ecletic mix of dishes. Specials always great, would highly reccomend the General Tso's Specials(Shrimp or chicken). You don't usually get this good a mix or quality of food unless you pay double or triple per dish. Appetizers are outstanding. Wait staff, though attractive are somewhat unresponsive and inconsiderate. They also have unreal lunch takeout specials at great prices. They are like gourmet dinners for $5.oo and change everyday. Nice Weekday Place 7/30/2003

This place is cute. its BYOB so you save some cash on wine and even if you forget your bottle it has a wine store built into the center of the restaurant which makes it fun. The sauces for the bread are awesome, food is good, service is sometimes slow but overall a great place to eat if you don't feel like cooking or ordering in one night. more
