Well, if you needed further incentive to try netflix, why not swing by video room? Complete with WAY TOO MANY VHS TAPES, an 'adults only' section in the back, and the rudest, least caring staff I've ever dealt with, two trips there have been enough for me to swear it off. I'm serious about the 'adults only' section, by the way. What - did NYC not have enough 'adult themed' stores at the moment? Alright, so they're entitled to cater to the creepies of the city who need their fix, but their customer service is awful, too. When I asked if a movie was in stock [I stopped asking about new releases after the third one wasn't in and just went with something old], I was kindly directed to the old, un-intuitive kiosk-like computer they have at the front counter. OK, cool, we're operating at the tech level of a public library circa 1996. How about a little service, fellas? The two guys at the counter were clearly in debate over something and far too busy to help me. It's worth pointing out that this was a Tuesday night, and I was the only customer in the store. I'm all for local businesses, but these guys are facing serious competition from the likes of Blockbuster and online video rental services and Video Room is doing NOTHING AT ALL to implore me to do business with them. I know that this will be repeated at the bottom of my review, but they are NOT RECOMMENDED.
Pros: Convenient
Cons: Rude/disinterested staff, not really sorted well, adults only section in the back, far too few copies of in-demand movies, way too many VHS tapes
