Best

I would recommend Victorian Stables (now renamed to the Stables at Winchester Court) to anyone. The trainer is helpful and goes out of her way to make sure that every horse, as we...

Worst

The right way and the wrong way? From what Iv ready in this forum you were both wrong and it sound as if all the loose ends were not tied up before the new manager took over......

Bad Mistakes 12/18/2008

The right way and the wrong way? From what Iv ready in this forum you were both wrong and it sound as if all the loose ends were not tied up before the new manager took over....It's sad, and the horses were the ones to pay for it....what a shame....I do hope everyone will see the light and learn from this awful mistake and be able to move on.......... Cons: to many mistakes and to many hands in the pie more

well 12/15/2008

the owner of the barn was giving me a great deal for rudy. i worked there all winter and spring and left in the summer due to family things, she said that if i worked for her that i would get free board. now i went there every day to see him. you should talk about things you don't know. I am not tring to start anything in fact i would love it if you didn't attack on here not that's childish. this is a place were you can say what you think. i loved riding there and working there. the owner was very nice to me and so was the care taker. also the barn that i am riding at now might buy rudy for their lesson program. Pros: nice owner more

This is a riot 12/15/2008

It is a riot to see the gossip and assumptions made. Having know the facility when it was a concept and not even habitable, I have heard at least 4 sides of the story. IMO, there have been three failures to the business, what is the common denominator? Each person who took on managing that stable tried to help the owner out of her financial situation but due to difficulties in the business relationship had to give up. In 2004 I knew the place was doomed when the first manager quit within weeks of opening. It's too bad that the restaurant was sacrificed, even before the banks went after the stable. As far as where the horses went, they were not stolen, the bank took posession and the person who was caring for them went and bought them back. Pros: Nice facility Cons: location and owner more

shocked by the reviews 12/6/2008

i used to ride at victorian stables before the first closing. then one day i went for my lesson and no one was there. there were two horses in the barn. i went to the restraint to see what was going on. the owner told me what had happened and i asked if she needed any help. she said yes and gave me one of the horses. when she told my mom that she wanted to give me the black tb(if you know who im talking about great)and my mom asked if she was lying, she said no. i worked with that horse all year and when i left to go work at a summer camp that summer she said that the horses were going to a training barn in Martha vineyard. i called the only two barns down there and one said they didnt know what i was talking about and the other said that she never showed. this got me upset. i didnt know if my horse was hurt, stolen, or taken away. i soon found out it reopened with the name stables at winchester court and i went there and talked to the owner and she said i could come and ride him again and that she would call me. that never happened. later i found out that a girl was leasing him. it hurt me that the barn owner didnt call me and tell me. now i know not to trust people if they give me something like a horse for free. i worked really hard on Rudy. i bought him joint supplaments, galloping boots. i spent the whole winter training him, over fences and the flat and look what she does and takes him away from me. i havent been there since then. but if what you say is true that they look like they've been abused it makes me very said. i miss rudy so much, it was hard for me to understand why she used me. i still do not know why, she seemed nice enough but oh well. Pros: i got a horse Cons: i lost it and now he could be dead more

Nasty Awful Horse People 10/20/2008

The people that ran The Stable At Winchester Court (The Former Victorian Stables) should be embarrased of what they did to Ms. Sacconie and her family...How dare this Horse women take advantage of another horse women.....It just sickens me that their are people out there who are so money hungry that they can't keep their hands off what don't belong to them, and steel Ms. Sacconies possessions including her horses...I want to be the first person in line and Im sure you all know what for......If you read some of the comments you will find that the women running the stable at Winchester Court was the women posting those notes using HER horses names, and fake names to boost her stars and make her look the ""Queen of the Barn""....I say good riddens to this awful person and Ms. Sacconie my hat is off to you, I know you will re-coup what belonges to you............ Pros: The owner did all she could to accomidate the new Instructor/Manager Cons: The owner was taken advantage of by the Instructor/Manager and Bills were NOT paid more

How Sad is This 7/29/2008

I was told by city rep. that The Stable At Winchester Court is closing due to non payment by the owner because the lessee was not paying her bills to the owner. How sad. Such an excellent place. I would like to be the first to offer my stable to the owner for her horses to stay while this mess is cleared up. no questions, and no board for the first 3 months. Pros: This is a thumbs down all the way. Cons: The owner tryed and the lessee sent her all the way down the tubes. If I were the owner I'd take court action more

Friendly, Healthy, Happy Atmosphere 3/12/2008

I would recommend Victorian Stables (now renamed to the Stables at Winchester Court) to anyone. The trainer is helpful and goes out of her way to make sure that every horse, as well as rider, there is happy, challenged, healthy, and well taken care of. The indoor is light and airy and as the weather improves, there will be tons of trails. The stalls are cleaned meticulously every day. I could think of no one better to care for horses than the trainer. Pros: Service, care more

Great place to board and take lessons! 2/29/2008

I really hope that people will go and check out this place for themselves. There is a new trainer who is now running the stables, which was renamed the Stables at Winchester Court. She is a great trainer/rider with a lot of experience. She is always patient and kind with the horses. Her lessons are always interesting and fun. I personally board two of my horses at the stable and both horses are extremely happy. The huge and airy stalls are cleaned and bedded well. The barn is in great shape, the indoor is light and airy and the turnout is going to be increased once the ground thaws. None of the paddocks are ?manure ridden.? The horses are so well taken care of and I think that the Stables at Winchester Court is a great place to board and take lessons. I really encourage anyone to come and visit the stables to see for themselves the barn and the high level of care that each and every horse receives. more

New trainer ~ seems like she'd be lots of fun to take horseback riding lessons from. 2/5/2008

Please stop by and see for yourself that the stable is quite clean and the horses are well cared for. There is a new trainer running the stables and she is very knowledgeable about horses. The indoor is clean and bright. The stalls are large, airy and rubber-matted. The paddocks are nice and steadily being improved upon. more

The WORST STABLE YET, Do Not Go Here and Spread The Word 10/12/2007

I called Ms. Saccone about lessons last month and was asured the stable was opened and had a new trainer/instructor. When I went to view the stable and how the lessons were conducted no one was there and a notice on the door that they were closed until furthur notice. I did take the liberty to check out the stable area, turn out area, and indoor riding area. 5 horses were on the property 4 out side in manure ridden turn out areas with flies all over their faces, infected eyes, and just filth and urine smell every where. The stable was not any better. 1 horse inside was so miserable from the flies it was just awful!! Yes the stalls were clean. You could smell however the dust and dirt collected from under use of this area. Flies again where a problem, and wheel barrows and pitch forks strewned so that if a horse were to get loose they would be hurt or mamed for life. Not what I expected after the conversation I had had with Ms. Saccone. This lady should be whip lashed. The horses taken away and the land sold to a person that would care for the up keep needed. I will spread the word that Victorian Stables abuses their horses, and I will call the MSPCA when I am finished with this review. Cons: not opened for business, inhumain treatment of the horses more
