Greatest concert venue in the midwest 5/15/2005

Ive seen shows from Kansas City to Indianapolis, Chicago to New Orleans and this place is the best. More than enough lush green grass to camp out under the stars and enjoy your favorite music. Support beams block view at parts of the lawn (but how else are you going to keep that big roof over the seats?) In the seats you see 2 large video screens to go along with the awesome view from any seat. And concessions and bathrooms on both plazas with convenient walkways everywhere make it a quick trip. Guest services and security were all friendly and helpful. Pros: Friendly staff, Great concerts, Large parking lot more

UMB Sucks 7/6/2003

This venue is the pits. You can't even see anything unless you're in the front row. I don't understand how people can enjoy such an overpriced, hot, awful venue. Cons: Overpriced, Uncomfortable, Can't see the bands more

Great Shows, Place Needs Work 11/29/2002

I always enjoy the shows at UMB, but the logistics of getting in and out are terrible. Traffic to and from the concerts always adds at least 3 hours to our outings at UMB. The concession prices are too high, and the bathrooms are too far from the seating area. One plus - it's a great place to people-watch....It's amazing what some people look like at these shows! Pros: Large lawn area Cons: Parking, Traffic, Expensive Concessions more

bring lots of money 11/14/2002

umb could be a great place, shows are great and can see good from anywhere. But the owner's rip off the public with overpriced beer and parking. also sometimes the security get's a little ruff with people when it's not really necessary. I do not enjoy seeing a bunch of thughs bully around customer's Pros: good shows Cons: overpriced parking, overpriced beer, security kinda mean more

TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC 8/27/2002

I recently went to the Dave Matthews Band concert. It was a great concert, but great concerts attract half of St. Louis. I sat in traffic for 2 hours and got there just as Dave was starting his first song. Riverport isn't suited to handle that much traffic coming off of the highway, causing extreme traffic jams at the popular shows. Moral of the Story: GET THERE EARLY!!!! Pros: good bands, nice setting Cons: traffic, parking more

UMB Sucks Like the Heat of St Louis 8/14/2002

If you love Nazi security, horrible sound, and the humidity and heat stroke associated with St Louis summers, Riverport/UMB Bank Pavilion is for you. Not only does the trash come out for overpriced shows, but the concert goer can experience all the awful things St Louis has to offer: mud slides, west nile, 115 degree heat, and mullets galore. Who wouldn't want to ""enjoy"" a $100 concert at this venue? What's next? Woodstock IV? How could this dirty St Louis secret even make it on a top ten venue list? Yet alone make the top five? I'm embarassed to be a part of the concert going voting public of St Louis that puts the UMB on the top of this list. Cons: Parking Snarl, Elevated Price, Location more

This place sucks. If you like big hair bands and ass-rock, you'll love Pavilion. They might get the occassional decent band, but it doesn't matter. Its like a Chucky Cheese for big people. more

How can you not? 7/31/2002

The UMB Bank Pavillion is great place for you to take the family, as long as you enjoy music, that is. They have great shows, like Brookes and Dunn, and it's easy to have an all-around great time there. Pros: great acts, inexpensive, great for fun more
