Veranda On College

Veranda is a nice store, and they have cute home accessories. I love their selection of dinnerware and Italian pottery; it is truly unique to have such an extensive selection in a small store. They also have cute jewelry. However, I generally avoided Veranda because the employees would follow students around as if I was going to steal something. It happened each time I went into the store; even other college age girls would follow me around straightening up things I had not even touched. I noticed the same thing happening to other younger patrons, and it happened even when I was well-dressed. Didn't happen when I went in with my mother. Just not worth being treated that way when there are plenty of other stores that want college students' business. more

Nice gift shop that also sells home decor and jewelry. They're located across from Toomer's Corner on College, so parking is limited, but the location is a convenient walk from campus and other shops. The store is pleasant, clean, and organized, and I liked their selection. The employees are nice and take the time to answer any questions. Their prices are reasonable. I like that they're open Saturdays. Parking is free on College St on Sat, and it's also easier to find a space. more
