Dr. Venu B. Kakarala is a native of Hyderabad, India, and earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Gandhi Medical College in Hyderabad, India in 1989. He completed his internship at Gandhi Hospital in 1991 and his residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University's Hurley Medical Center in Flint, MI in 2000. Dr. Kakarala worked at a private practice since 2000, until he joined The Baton Rouge Clinic's Internal Medicine department in Zachary in May 2025.
Dr. Kakarala has been practicing medicine for more than three decades. Over the years, he has held various roles, including Medical Officer at the Department of Medicine in India, Clinical Instructor for the Department of Medicine at Michigan State University, and most recently, Primary Care Physician in Zachary. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Louisiana.
