I switched from another provider, and as a condition Alan assured me I'd receive one gratuitous boiler service within a year. The time came, nothing was put in writing by him, and the words flew with the wind. Alan never returned my call inquiring about that agreement, and nobody found any instructions anywhere. CON!
Another discrepancy is the oil co-op pricing. Although the co-op rightfully did not renew the contract with Valley Oil, they claim to still be honoring those prices. As of Sept 10, 2006, co-op price for oil was $2.20/g. However, these people were selling it to co-op members at 13 cents more! Their excuse? "oh, the price flucuates." Yeah, even on an hour-to-hour basis, it seems like.
Co-op members, go with Kasden instead! They honored exactly that price, on that date. To this day, co-op members do far better than locking in prices, saving people at least $0.60/g
