Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant

My friends and I went there for my friend's 21st. We got the 60oz Margatita and we got charged $20.50, which is supposed to be $5.00 because of the birthday. We told the waitress and she readjusted the total, including her "gratuity" $20 (the total was $90!!!). I would not tip someone who DID NOT check on us, we had no salsa and rushed us to pay and on top of this she could not do Math to split the bill and she almost overcharged us again. I did the Math for her and explained everything...why did they hire this person who does not have basic Math skills??. As we were leaving she said we were short and still owed her $18 "for her gratuity" which was already paid. She made us go back and re-do the Math.. she was double counting the tip. She claimed to be a Manager and then she she "no I am not a manager" I sad "good". As we were leaving she said "well, that's why we do not do separate bill" which we hadn't done. I told her that she should have said that from the beginning and she went off on me telling me that she does not appreciate my comments. The first time that I went to Vallarta's, I got a lunch special and I was very impressed. The food was pretty good and the price was cheap. So, we went back another time for dinner - with the kids. I didn't think it was as good. The dinner prices were way too high for the quality of food that you get. In addition, their kid's menu was ridiculous. It was $6 for a child's quesadilla. Let me clarify, this is not a fancy place. It's not like you are paying for the atmosphere. In summary, I think it would be a good place to go for lunch on a lunch break and get the lunch special. I really wouldn't recommend it for dinner though because you could get much better food for the price that you will be paying. more
