Go somewhere else. 9/21/2011

I adopted a dog from a shelter a few years ago and when I did I was able to take her to the Winchester Blvd. VCA for a free checkup. I don't remember the name of the doctor, but she was a heavy-set woman who told us that as we had adopted a pit bull, the only way to train her was to "be physical" with her. She said the only appropriate method for training them is via alpha rolls and as she put it "she has to feel like you are going to kill her. She will scream and pee but then you will have asserted your dominance". Needless to say I NEVER brought my dog back to this psycho. Please, be wary and do not accept training advice from someone just because they are a veterinarian. The advice we were given was ridiculous, cruel and dangerous. I can't believe a veterinarian would advocate such outmoded and cruel methods - it was disgusting. I would never bring my pet there EVER. more

They care. 3/20/2010

All of the staff that I have encountered here have been great! Dr. Salzman is my dog's main vet and he is wonderful. My rescue dog came to me with a rare condition that Dr. Salzman researched and researched until he was able to formulate a terrific care plan. I have complete respect for him as he questioned and attentively listened to my lifestyle and expectations for my new dog to modify the care plan. Now we have things under control health wise and return frequently for nail trimming. The staff promptly assisted me when I ran into a snag to get my dog back into the US when we were stuck out of the country. It's nice to hear all pets welcomed so warmly when they enter the building. Good Vets 12/12/2008

My Basenji and me love both Dr-s there.One of them we know for 7 years! I think this is very modern facility and experience staff.They always give us best service!My unfriendly doggy even let Dr.Eisenstein to pet him!!! WOW!!!There is Boarding and Grooming which is good and convenient.My dog is 11 y.o. so If something happened they will notice that and would know how to deal with it!Vet Techs ans Receptionists are very sweet too. more

My pet and I have good experience here 11/10/2008

When I adopted my dog, I took him to VCA through referral by HSSV. The staff is friendly, the vets are excellent. This vet will try to nickel and dime the bill upwards, but I think it is a pretty practice with most vets. This helps cover a lot of the freebie services that vets sometimes do. more

Good doctors 6/8/2008

I have visited a couple of the VCA Animal Hospitals and have found them to be friendly, knowledgeable with questions you may have and accommodating. They truly love animals and treat them as if they were their own. more

Great care AND great people! 11/15/2007

We moved here two years ago, and have had a tough time finding a vet we really love. We visited Kirkwood while taking a friend's cat for an appointment, and like the vet, but found the office staff to be utterly rude - to all comers impartially (not great, but not personal!). Pros: service, care Cons: there are no cons! more
