I have followed Dr Gary Clarke around Broward County for 15 years. There is no finer vet, in my opinion. He is caring, gentle, smart and funny. I think of him as a friend. We've been through a lot of animal crises, and he has handled them all with skill and kindness. I would never go anywhere else. The staff at VCA Promenade is terrific too. more

Happy with VCA 6/3/2010

In defense of VCA Promenade, I have *always* been presented with written estimates and/or price information prior to any tests or procedures. That's the one thing I do like about VCA (perhaps the 1st reviewer has not been there in awhile?) but, yes, the prices ARE a little on the high side. \r \r My vet had a private practice but then joined VCA, which is why I take my animals here. I have seen the other vets, too, and I believe they are a very competent group of doctors. The staff is friendly and courteous. All-in-all, I am very satified with them. more

Be Careful - Very inmoral billing practices. 7/19/2006

I went to this hospital with my dog because she had an eye infection. When I called to make the appointment I asked for the price and I inquired about their practices because some vet offices don't write prescriptions... anyways after waiting for about 1 hour we went into the room and the doctor check my dog's eye... When I went to pay the $40 fee for the consultation I was charged $81!!!!\r The charged me for an "eye test" $20 when the only thing she did was to look at her eye with a light during the normal consultation. They also charge me $5 for waste disposal and $14 for a cream that cost $6 in petscriptions.\r They also were about to test my dog for some other things... without asking my permision!!!!\r Don't go to that office they will find a way to bulk up your bill.\r This vets with their unethical practices are the reason why many of us don't take our pets to the doctor until the last minute.
