VCA Mountain View Animal Hospital

My pet rat was having difficulty breathing and I knew he was getting old and it was probably time to have him put down. Dr. Price and her staff were so compassionate at this difficult time. She gave a thorough assessment and then relayed my options for my pet. Ultimately, it was concluded that it was time to let go of him. Dr. Price was so kind and gentle with my little guy at the end of his life. She gave me support and even mailed me a sympathy card. I recommend Mountain View, especially Dr. Price, to anyone. more

I've been going to Mountain View for years. Since I live downtown, it requires that I drive the entire length of the valley, but it's worth it. Dr. Kanda is an excellent veterinarian. She takes time with each of animals, knows them well, and has seen us through the ups and downs that come with decades of loving animals. \r \r She always calls personally after any procedure, and answers all of my questions in detail. \r \r The office is busy and sometimes crowded, but in my experience there are not often long waits. I find the staff to be courteous and efficient, with very few exceptions over the years.\r \r I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kanda Hazelwood and Mountain View Animal Hospital. more

Compassionate care? I understand that every thing in life ends up being a sale. I feel that the only interest my vet had in mind was their own, pocket book interest at that. I was quoted one price which seemed reasonable for a routine procedure. I felt confident that with the reviews I've read I was going to the right place. The care for my pet was average at best. I was asked SEVERAL times to up-sell on procedure after procedure. I felt pressured into saying yes to a couple. My vet told me the procedures were ABSOLUTELY critical. I was a mess all day waiting for my pet to be finished, during which I was called four times asking my permission to do yet more procedures. My pet is very healthy and needed nothing but a neutering. By the end of the day I was concerned my pet would have everything from liver failure to cancer all because of the pressure to run blood work and other tests. I will not be recommending or going back to this facility. I am willing to pay prices that are outrageous for actual compassionate care. My advice if you take your pet here is to watch out for the commission hungry vets. It's about money, not your pets health. more

Everytime I have taken one of my babies here they have done a great job with them. I have never had any problems and have only had good experiences! more

My experience at Mountain View has not been very good. I kept taking my pets there for quite sometime because they had their records. I finally have given up & moved to another vet hospital. First of all the wait time is ridiculous. The upfront staff is awful. Many times that I went in for an appointment I was completely ignored by the staff who were talking & laughing. I have seen different vets there with mixed experiences. The prices are very high so I expect them to really take their time. They were usually rushed. Occasionally a vet assistant would come to show me something & I would end up waiting for them for a long time as well. I get why they keep these people in the back as they have very poor communication skills & act as if you are bothering them. I finally just started asking for the head tech, but she is so rude. I am sorry to say I do not recommend going here. more

I can't believe that there are any reviews that are not 5 stars. This is simply the best of the best. Dr. Kanda and Mt. View is the only Vet I will trust with my pets. They have fantastic service and the staff is great. I have been going to them for about 9 years and thank God for the day I found them. I have reccomended them to friends and family and not one has had a problem of any kind and all have thanked me for the reccomendation. I just can't say enough good about them. They have helpped us through serious illnesses and even pet death. You will not regret you chioce to go see Dr. Kanda or Dr. Kirkland. Pros: Experience, Service, Caring. more

Our animal had his shots elsewhere and could not walk well after injected in his hind quarter instead of his usual injection site. Our friend told us about Dr. Kanda, we made an appointment. \r \r I can't say she was actually bad, because I had one experience with her. I thought it neglectful to use this treatment plan for our pet. We ended up buying so many unnecessary things. We bought stairs a crate, gave him pills with belladonna in them. There is more to it and those who love her are going to say nay, but it was our experience. We are with the hospital we have gone to for the past nine years. The Vet at this hospital was able to care for him with a good response within two days. Belladonna was something he could not believe would be given. The veterinarians and staff of Mountain View Animal Hospital have been providing excellent veterinary care to the rescued pets of the Utah Animal Advocacy Foundation for the past 7 years. They are professional, compassionate, and very good at what they do. I can't say enough good things about this veterinary clinic! I have been taking my pets to Dr. Kanda at Mountain View Animal Hospital for many years now. I live in the Sugarhouse area, but drive to Sandy for veterinary appointments because she's the only one I trust to care for my pets. Dr. Kanda is extremely knowledgeable and it's obvious that she really cares about her patients. The rest of the staff at Mountain View is also wonderful. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Kanda and Mountain View Animal Hospital to anyone who wants to give their pets the very best. Pros: Competent, caring veterinary care. Cons: None. more

I can't believe I am the first one to write a review. I take my dog Sadie here for accupunture with Dr Kanda and she is doing so well. Dr Kanda developed a plan for her herniated disk and as of now, she is pain free and we only have to go for txs as needed. The staff is caring and friendly. Awesome clinic! Thanks Dr K! more
