Utopia Hair Salon makes clients feel really special! The salon's decor is charming and I really appreciate the very friendly and professional staff. I stay loyal to Will Jones, international hair stylist, because he works magic with hair extensions! Will has an extremely impressive portfolio, including training and working with the masters of "monofibre" extensions at London's celebrity hair salon, Antenna. Before moving to San Francisco, I used to model for students at Antenna. Will has been doing my hair for about 18 months and he continues to give me a sustainable image every couple of months. Ive had variations of styles ranging from long and wavy, to shoulder length bouncy curls. The extensions are carefully and quickly added to my hair using a sophisticated technique and they usually last for about 8 weeks (depending on your length and/or texture). Intermediate appointments are well worth it because professional maintenance really refreshes the image. Will uses superior hair care products to protect my own hair. Whats truly amazing is the color match; you simply cannot tell the difference between my hair and the extensions! I recommend Will to anyone who wants natural looking glamour. I can't believe how long I have been going to Freda. I won't mention the timeframe but she cuts hair like its nobody business. I'm completely satisfied everytime I go see her at Utopia. The atmosphere is the best. I get to have a refreshing glass of wine while I sit in the chair. I'm totally pampered by Freda. Whether its the scalp massage during shampoo or jsut sitting in the chair. Everytime I know its going to be a quality job. Don't miss out. Make an appt. to see her. You won't be disappointed. Thx. Utopia Salon does a great job. I've been going to Tonia now for 6+ years. She does a terrific job of cutting hair and she is able to do what you ask. Hang does my color and she really knows what she is doing. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Also, the salon itself is very friendly and upbeat. They make you feel very comfortable and I always look forward to my visits there. more

I would like to share my experience with my stylist Freda Salamy. There are stylist who do exactly what you ask to your hair, then there are stylist who give you the same cut or color each time because they are too afraid to suggest something else. Then comes along that extra ordinary stylist who if you give her full reign on your hair you will look better than you ever did before. Freda is that type of stylist. She will not only make you look your best but she makes you feel your best. Freda has an incredible warm and caring presence to her that when you are sitting in her chair you feel that there she is focused only on you and what your needs are. When you start going to Freda for you hair you will honestly question yourself as to why you didnt sooner. more

It is somehow utopian to believe that once you enter a salon, the hairdresser will know instantly what you want (or maybe better than you), the colors that suits you, the cut that enhances your figure. It is also utopian that with the same hairdresser you will have a political discussion for 3 hours. Again, it is rather utopian that he will spend 3 hours on you without showing any signs of boredom, and that till the last touch, you will stay confindent that the result will be a miracle. I first started seeing Kenny a long time ago(16 years to be exact!) first at Vidal Sassoon, then 77 Maiden Lane. Since his move to his new salon( Utopia ) he has continued to blossom and prosper! Kenny is a master stylist! He always knows what the latest trends in hair design are and he is not shy about sharing that with me!(he should! Kenny has been an educator for over 15 years, along with being a Redken educator and platform artist! THATS A LOT OF EXPERIENCE!!!) I love going to Kenny's new salon! It is a very artsy salon(very light and airy!) with many talented stylists working side by side Kenny! Everything from the ever-changing artwork on the wall(and a quarterly art reception!) to the mood of the salon(very positive!) along with the latest music make this salon a perfect envoirnment! All I can say is rush to go see Kenny if your look needs updating, you can even schedule your appointment on line(I love that feature!) I bet your experience at Utopia is as good as mine! more

Tony Jones is an incredible stylist. The things that keep me coming back to Tony at Utopia are his care and consideration of his clients' needs, and his meticulousness toward his craft. I love that he encourages me to take risks with my styles. I feel like I have to do something different at each visit, and he's wonderful at translating my often cryptic visions into chic and easy-to-care-for hair. I accidentally found Utopia through a silent auction purchase, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am that I did. This is an amazing salon, full of true professionals in a beautiful environment. Len Handeland is absolutely the best stylist I've ever had, and he is masterful at color. People tell me "Your hair looks great!" - not "Nice highlights"...that says a lot about the difference between stylists who use color and those who've mastered it. I always feel welcome there, the music is appropriate (both in style and volume) and the changing local artists' works provide something new for the eye every time. I felt like I had a true consultation with Len before he gave me amazing color and a great cut. I feel like it's rare today to find someone who actually takes time to listen to your wants and examines your hair. I could tell he was very experienced and knowledgable by the tips he gave me. I was skeptical of having to try another new hair stylist, after I've experienced so many of them in the city. I am now so confident and happy that I have found HANG. She has WOW me every single time I want to change my style and color. She always customize the look just to fit my life style, face shape and personality. Trust me, I get complements all the time. "Wow! Your hair looks great did you just get it cut?" When your friends tell you this even 8 -10 weeks after you have gotten your haircut you know your stylist did a great job. Since I have gotten my haircut with Len I have consistently gotten comments such as these. I am a busy mom and a professional and it is not always easy to get back into the salon every 5 weeks. I have been going to this salon for 8 years-Each year it gets even more classier. A trip to this salon - is truly therapy - no matter what service. I have been seeing my manicurist Anh (Ann) Lu at Utopia Salon for the last 6 years. She is an extremely talented, detail oriented manicurist who leaves my nails looking wonderful and in shape, and ready to meet the world! The atmosphere at the salon is very artsy, the latest club music (and sometimes a little more mellow like jazz music) is usually playing. I am always offered a beverage, either a refreshing herbal tea, or a nice relaxing glass of wine at the end of a stressful day! The salon rotates their artwork every 3-4 month's I have attended a couple of their art receptions, which are well attended, they even hired a DJ to spin the latest tunes! I would highly recommend Anh(Ann) as well as any of the stylists at Utopia who are usually busy working their magic on others while I am receiving my nail service.
