Dr. Zola is a great veterinarian. However, whe we had to get our cat spayed, he did not perform the surgery and we were charged $700. My husband and I called twice to inform them...

This place is overpriced, rude, tries to give you unneeded vaccinations and has a groomer who will hurt your animal. Stay away. more

Dr Zola & Team Are Amazing 3/13/2012

Dr Zola is truely an outstanding vet and is very passonite about the well being of his patients. I've been bringing my dogs to Dr Zola for over 16 years and couldn't even imagine going any where else. His attention to detail and thoroughness of his examinations are second to none. One would only have to visit him one time to support this premise. Dr Zola also has an excellent support staff that makes each visit special. If you haven't already done so, I would highly recommend visiting University Animal Hospital for outstanding vetenerian services. Sincerely, MASON! Pros: null Cons: null more

Best vet in NYC 3/9/2012

I've been seeing Dr Zola for over a dozen years. He is by far the best vet in NYC. All of our dogs and cats have been treated extremely well. Pros: null Cons: null more

GOLD-STAR TREATMENT FROM EVERYBODY 3/7/2012

Every pet owner knows that when an animal is ailing, the whole household turns upside down. Worries? Enough for a landfill, So at University Animal Hospital on the Upper East Side, where I almost take for granted the totally up-to-date knowledge and superior skills of their doctors, I am more than grateful for the genuine concern they seen to have about their patient's progress. They really do seem to care. As do the front-desk people and the technicians I've met in the back. Pros: null Cons: null more

nice vet, kinda $$$ for 2 pets 3/6/2012

I really enjoy the reception staff at University Animal Hospital. This is my first pet, so I don't know if I am getting ripped off, but it is pricey. I appreciate Dr. Zolov and his demeanor when he diagnoses my doggies, but he didn't end up neutering my dogs, someone else did. That was disappointing. Pros: null Cons: null more

I'm Hooked! The Best! 3/3/2012

I found UAH through American Kennels (Pet store on Lex across/up from Bloomies). 61'2 yrs ago when I adopted my new Maltese puppy. UAH was the Vet they used. I was living on the ES then so it was convenient . But I really chose to stick with them because Oliver was so perfectly healthy and I never had single "new puppy" health issue from the day we took him home. Dr Zola truly cares! He takes time with each patient, actually explains and educates you about your pet's health and how to care best for him/her. Also...Because I believe in Natural Medicine, I don't permit Oliver to be vaccinated or take drugs unless Absolutely necessary. Dr Zola is very respectful of that and always works with me. Not to mention his GREAT sense of humor and friendly smile! We live on the WS now, so its not as convenient to get there anymore. But I still bring Oliver crosstown to UAH and always will because Dr Zola is truly the BEST in my book...and Oliver agrees! Woof, Woof! PS- A bit pricy but WORTH IT! Pros: null Cons: null more

no comment for now Pros: fine vet Cons: expensive more

SO glad I found this vet! 12/14/2009

I have seen several vets in the city, but this is the one I keep coming back to. Dr. Zola and the other doctors here always take the time to help with any questions I have, and they always make time to see me and my bulldog, Lily. As anyone with a bulldog knows, they do have a lot of health issues, so finding a vet that you can trust is of the utmost importance - I am happy here and so is Lily. I can't imagine trusting her to anyone else. Pros: Great vets, friendly staff Cons: none so far! more

Favorite place for my pets 12/10/2009

This animal hospital is truly GREAT! We love the docs and the team here. Both our dog and our 2 cats are lucky to have Dr. Zola and Dr. Saunders in their lives. Although I have had a tough time getting early morning appts I wouldn't trade this vet hospital for any other. Pros: great vet care and caring staff Cons: not easy to get appt with Dr. Zola more

Best vet ever 12/10/2009

I have used these veterinarians for the past five years, they are the best I have ever used. I have referred countless friends and their pets and we all have had the same experience there. Everyone in the office is friendly, caring and helpful at all times, Also very prompt. If you don't like your current vet I would highly recommend trying them. Pros: professional, compassionate, accessible and responsive Cons: there is only one of these offices more

Very nice neighborhood Vet 9/9/2009

All my friends that live in the area go to University Animal Hospital so naturally I want to go somewhere they are comfortable and happy with. My dog doesn't seem to mind going to the vet which is a plus. The Dr.'s and staff are very friendly too. I would recommend to others. Pros: Very sensitive and passionate with pets more

MY DOG'S HOME AWAY FROM HOME!! 9/3/2009

This team of veterinary health professionals are the best I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. They helped us care for our 18 year old Jack Russell throughout his entire life and I credit them with helping him live a wonderful and happy and VERY long life. Now my new rescued Jack Russell comes to visit Dr. Zola and Dr. Saunders and I know there are "no better hands" to be in. This is a team of well informed veterinary professionals always aware of the new cutting edge procedures and programs but also are seasoned and confidant in their diagnostic abilities. I also have boarded my dogs over the years there many times and I appreciate the sense of security I have when leaving them for a stay. It's like the Ritz for dogs...someone always on call and private walks - I'm surprised there isn't a mini bar. The staff is always friendly and attentive. All my dogs have loved going there. Pros: QUALITY HEALTHCARE WITH A DEDICATED AND LOVING STAFF Cons: I WISH THEY TOOK MY HEALTH INSURANCE! more

PET OWNERS BEWARE!!!!!! 7/31/2009

It?s obvious they were worried about me writing a review (see deluge of ?lovely? reviews since my incident with UAH happened in ?08) and believe me I tried not to, but all other pet owners in my building urged me in order to aid others. Pros: the resident cat Cons: bring your wallet, checkbook, credit cards and lawyer more

Saved me! (and the dog) 6/23/2009

I was recently pet sitting for my girlfriend's dog when she got really sick with a horrible stomach problem. I called her vet (University), freaking out, and the staff was awesome! They had us come in immediately and the doctor saw us right away. He was very professional and really nice. I was totally confident in the care she received and their recommendations. She was a good as new and it didn't cost me a fortune. Pros: Great people and docs Cons: None more

Worth Every Penny!! 5/26/2009

I've dealt with the Dr. Zola and University Animal Hospital for over 10 years and can only praise all the doctors, technicians and staff for their skill, kindness, and professionalism. Pros: Great Vets, Doctors on Call Cons: none more

Glad I took his advice! 5/20/2009

I recently purchased 2 kittens from a local pet store. The owner of the store personally recommended his veterinarian to me. I was hesitant because I had used another vet for many years with my older cat. I LOVED this vet! I am so happy to have discovered University Animal Hospital. I've seen a couple of the doctors there and have been consistently impressed with their care. I have since transferred my other cat's files to University. I can't imagine going anywhere else Pros: Fantastic Doctors, clean office, friendly staff Cons: none! more

Crazy expensive 5/19/2009

We took our puppy here for a check-up and since she hurt her leg previously we wanted a check on that as well. I have to say they took good care of her. Maybe too good I would say. Before we knew it we went through a whole circus of X-rays, medication, hospitalization etc. When I picked up my dog, she was totally drugged up. They put her leg in a cast and I had to pay over 700 dollars for treatments that were not discussed with us. On the question if these treatments were really that necessary, they answered they just wanted to be sure, even though the X-rays didn?t show any significant injuries. Also, they made me feel quilty by saying ?well you want the best for your dog, don?t you?? While in reality they were asking themselves this question: ?how can we make as much money on this dog??. Seriously! Pros: good care Cons: They overcharge and don't discuss treatmens more

My kitten's in good hands! 4/21/2009

I hate taking my cat to the vet as much as she hates going. Parenting is hard! But UAH has the friendliest staff around (you'll love Beverly), and I've always felt like my baby is in good hands when she's there! Pros: Clean location, friendly staff, reasonable rates Cons: Evening and Sunday hours would be helpful more

DR. ZOLA HAS THE KINDEST & BEST PEOPLE CHAIRSIDE SKILLS OF ALL THE VETS I'VE EVER HAD.. 2/3/2009

JAKE IS NOW MY THIRD WEIMARANER, AFTER SHEBA & TALIA. DR. ZOLA & I GO BACK OVER 25 YEARS. I HAVE HAD ONLY GOOD EXPERIENCES WITH DR. ZOLA AND HIS ASSOCIATES AND OFFICE STAFF. Pros: EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE VETS, OPEN TO WORKING 'OUTSIDE OF THE BOX' Cons: LONG WAITS IN RECEPTION AREA DUE TO EMERGENCIES more

Caring and Professional 1/8/2009

A staff that cares, and spends time with their customers. Pets are treated well, and illnesses are cured. I really like how they answer your questions. I recommend this office! Pros: The people!! Cons: Higher because of being in Manhattan!! more
