Amazing Vacation 4/30/2009

I've been to Universal Orlando twice with my family. Once when I was 9, the other time when I was 11. We're returning this summer after six long years, and I am stoked. Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure is the most fun, exciting, and enjoyable place I've ever been to. The detail they've put into every aspect, the awesome rides, and the extremely cool, night-life ambiance of CityWalk make Universal Orlando one hot vacation spot for people of all ages. Seriously, there is something for EVERYbody here. Even when I was little and terrified of roller coasters, I had a blast. So for your next family vacation, definitely consider Universal Orlando. You won't be the least bit sorry! Pros: Thrilling rides, amazing look/feel, great hotels Cons: Nothing at all more

Great Fun!! 1/25/2009

I LOVE this place! I love the original park with the Men in Black ride, the Mummy rollercoaster, the Jurassic Park water ride, and all of the others! I also love Islands of Adventure park with the Marvel comics rides, even though I'm not into comic book characters at all. I finally went on Doctor Doom's Fearfall and LOVED it! It scares me to death, but I love it! I even get kinda sick on rollercoasters, so I don't do on The Hulk (people who are kinda big around can't fit on that ride, too, which I don't like because I could go on all of the other rides). I liked Spiderman and the other rides, too. Halloween Horror Nights is the BEST! Even if I don't get there all year, I'll be sure to get to Halloween Horror nights every year! I LOVE THIS PLACE! more

Best theme park EVER! 7/16/2007

I live near Tampa, but wouldn't go to Busch Gardens if someone gave me a free ticket. I'd pass up any other park to be able to go to Universal Studios in Orlando, FL! I LOVE that place! I liked Spiderman and the other rides, too. Halloween Horror Nights is the BEST! Even if I don't get there all year, I'll be sure to get to Halloween Horror nights every year! I LOVE THIS PLACE! Pros: Awesome rides, great scenery, lots to do! Cons: VERY high-priced food, 30 minute food lines more

Orlando Beer Festival at CityWalk=waist of money 11/14/2005

THIRSTY? After attending the 7th Annual Orlando Beer Festival, I am definitely still thirsty. This is due to the fact that there were twice as many people in attendance and half as many vendors providing beer samples. The lines were ridiculously long, the venders were few and far between, and you had to buy a beer while waiting in a line to sample the beer provided by the festival. It took 45 minutes in a line to get 2 oz. of beer! I complained to guest services and told that all sales are final. My final sale was a $33 plastic cup and 4 oz. of beer. It was AWFUL! I will never attend the Orlando Beer Festival again. Obviously, the people responsible are not interested in satisfying their customers. Cons: long lines, rude staff more

Awesome Park 7/13/2005

The rollercoasters & 3D rides are so thrilling that words cannot describe how awesome they are. So much to look at and do for the whole family. Staying at the beautiful on site hotel gives you front of the line for all the rides and walking distance to the parks and City Walk. Pros: clean, thrilling rides Cons: addicting more

Great Rides, Little Atmosphere 7/17/2003

The Universal Studios designers certainly got one thing right--the rides. Too bad they didn't realize that theme parks are more than just rides. We bought the 5 days for the price of 2 for our family of 5. Only 2 of us (my older son and I) even came back for the 2nd day. Wasted $120. It was a bargain though since we all had such a great time at Walt Disney World. Pros: Rides Cons: Crowds, Lines, Theme?? more

Awesome! 3/25/2003

Ever since going to Universal the first time I have loved it, my favorite ride is ET. There is more than enough to last a full day, even a full weekend. I think the best deal for visitors is to get the 2 day park hop ticket. Pros: Park Hop Tickets more

Yawn 2/12/2003

I thought this park was overrated. Maybe I should have went here before I went to any Disney parks. I mean Epcot was more exciting than Universal Studios. I thought it was very boring. Pros: parking, men in black Cons: boring, boring, twister more

Universal FUN !!! 10/6/2002

We purchased the 2 year passes, & therefore spend a LOT of time here !! The park is clean. The facilities are plentiful & also clean and the staff are very knowledgeable about the park & are very helpful. The park has something for every age. The shows, street performances & rides are well set up & so much fun. Whilst visiting, you also learn much of the magic of movie making. Disney, eat your heart out, Universal is THE place to go!! Pros: GREAT staff, GREAT rides more

It's okay to go once. But, I wouldn't really visit again unless they had a really get ride... more

Cool Movie Rides 7/17/2002

Having a park based on movie rides is kind of a risky venture. On one hand, rides based on hit movies is a great experience. On the other hand, time is the enemy of these same rides. No child at this park will be familiar with movies like Earthquake, or even Jaws. That makes it kind of hard to connect with the "audience". Overall though this is a decent park, it just isn't one that I would feel obligated to visit every time I am in Orlando. Riding the Earthquake or King Kong rides kind of loses it's edge when you know what is going to happen every time. more

Editorial
  • In Short
The park is divided into three unique areas, designed to provide something thrilling for everyone. Universal Studios Florida is a 444-acre haven of moviemaking madness, offering some of the coolest rides in Central Florida, all in six thrill-packed areas. Catch the awesome Terminator 2: 3D attraction, Twister, Back to the Future and Jaws. Kids will love the Nickelodeon Studios and the Funtastic World of Fievel's Playground. Islands of Adventure is a cleverly designed conceptual adventure through five themed islands. An enormous, thickly decorated smorgasbord of thrill rides (some of them brutal in intensity) and fantasy-come-alive. Universal Studios CityWalk is a 30-acre entertainment playground, brimming with nightclubs, restaurants, theaters and shops.
