I stayed at the Union Square Inn in mid March 2008 for four nights. The room appeared clean and had new wooden floors. The place is noisy, no elevator, and the shower is unpredictable. As prices of hotels in NYC are high now, it seemed like the price was right. Well, the cost of staying here ended up being higher than I thought! The day I checked out, I noticed welts on my face that I didn't connect with bites. A day following my return home, about a hundred very itchy welts, BB bites, emerged mostly on my upper body: face, neck, chest, back, side, arms and hands. A few on my legs, none on my feet as I wore socks each night of my stay. I've had to take extensive precautions to prevent the problem following me here at home. I contacted the hotel and they denied the infestation. DON""T STAY HERE!
Pros: Fairly good location, lower price than many hotels in NYC.
Cons: Not clean, unsafe, no elevator, noisy, facilities unpredictable.
