Ulta Beauty

I went in for a trim and a conditioning treatment, thinking I had a experienced, hair stylist because she charged me quite a lot. I was trying to grow my hair out, it was pretty long, but she cut the back very short and layered it. It looked terrible!, she didn't dry or style it at all. Then she said ""Oh I gave you a shag"". Who in their right mind wants a retro 80's hair cut, so short I could barely curl it? Since when does a trim translate into ""mullet""? Needless to say I'm never going to get my hair done their again, ever!!! Pros: I've had my hair done at Ulta before,but Cons: the last time I got my hair cut, I was extremely upset. more

11.07.08\r I took my teenage daughter to Ulta today to shop for make up. While waiting, I browsed their clearance bins & found a lip plumper for $1. After waiting 5 minutes in line a lady from the salon portion of the store called me over. She found that there was no sku number on the lip plumper, proceeded to look for another one in the store to scan & when she couldn't find one another employee called another store to see if they had a sku number for the item. The employee got off the phone & said there was no sku so she could not sell me the item. I asked if they could just ring me up for $1 & she said they could not. I asked to speak to a manager & Angel came over & repeated that they could not sell me the item. I explained that I had been standing there waiting & said I found it to be unacceptable. Her response was ""you can call corporate"". Yep, that was her solution to this dilemma! She did not offer to give me a discount on another item or for a future purchase, nothing. Just ""you can call corporate"". So, I did & after waiting a full 10 minutes to get through, Barbera comes on the line. I explain that I was dissatisfied with my experience at Ulta & she proceeds to explain that without a sku number, they cannot sell me the item. I told her that I was calling because this was unacceptable & that I wanted a resolution, I actually had to suggest that they should compensate me (i.e. coupon, discount SOMETHING) to keep me as a satisfied customer. Barbera called the Ulta store & spoke to someone there. She then called me back & said they would give me a different lip plumper for free. I chose not to go back to the store (time, gas etc.) Could they have simply suggested this before I ever left the store, UM YEP! TERRIBLE customer service at Ulta & they could care less whether you are dissatisfied. Their solution? ""You can call corporate"". I'm insulted & will never again choose to pay higher prices at Ulta without the benefit of good customer service. Pros: Ummm...nope can't think of one Cons: Pay more for items you can purchase at WalMart, without the benefit of good customer service. more

The atmosphere was pleasant and I frequent Ulta because I had always had good experiences. The girl I had did a great job on the cut but she messed up on the highlights. I think she was pretty new because she seemed really nervous. The highlights in the back were really, really light and the ones up front were orangish. She ran out of time and I had to come back the next day for the cut. It was kind of disappointing for over $130. Nice girl, great cut but, highlights....not so much.
