Scratched Vehicle also. I TOO, DO NOT recommend going here. I have been going to this place for years, and typically though the washes are not thorough, I use them for the convenience and willingness to live with the 80/20 rule. I went there to have my car washed 4/29. It was a Monday afternoon and the line was very short. I requested the “works” like I always get. \r
\r
My car is a little over a year old, and is rarely out of the garage, as I work from home. Consequently, I am very aware of changes to its appearance.\r
\r
I have two magnets on the back of my vehicle supporting the troops. In the past, they have usually removed these magnets from my previous vehicle before washing. \r
When the workers signaled that my car was finished I went to pick it up, and do my visual “once over” as always before I entered the vehicle. I noticed numerous very distinct and deep scratches in the paint on the right rear tailgate panel that had just occurred during the car wash (I have pictures). They had either not removed that magnet before the automatic wash and the machine dragged the magnet around, or the workers started to dry with that magnet still attached, and dragged the magnet around with their drying towels before noticing what they were doing (the vehicle tail section dirty before I brought it in as had gone snow shoeing Saturday AM – pictures shows lots of dirt on the backside of one magnet, and the other clean and showing a sheen from being recently wet).\r
\r
I first expressed my concern to a worker who said the car was that way before I brought it in. I told him it was not, and stated the vehicle is very new and rarely gets out of my garage. I asked for the manager and in our short conversation he says that the magnets are considered “after-market” additions and they were not responsible for any damage. I told him I have been coming for years and I have never had this problem before, and that this had clearly just happened. I was getting upset at the lack of accountability. He offered to wash it again, noticing they hadn’t done a very good job cleaning the vehicle. I declined.\r
\r
Finally, after asking for the owner, who came out, told me the same thing, and basically intimated the responsibility and fault was mine, as I did not heed his signs that they were not responsible for damage caused by “after-market additions to the vehicle and I did not remove the magnets before the car was washed. I asked where this was pointed out, and he indicated the signs where the cars entered the queue. It was not stated under the signs above where the cars are dropped off and vacuumed. There was one sign taped to the door as you entered the cash register office that stated they were not responsible for damage caused by ‘after-market’ items, but based upon the things described, did not see how one would in any normal way construe a vehicle magnet as an after -market addition to the vehicle, especially as they had handled things properly in the past.\r
\r
The manager was extremely uncooperative, unwilling to admit even that the scratches had occurred at his wash, and unwilling to offer any kind compromise on the damage done. He clearly indicated the fault was all mine. The only thing he was clear about was that he didn’t want me to yell at him. I had challenged him previously on how he, a business owner doing this for years, would not know that at least for the sake of return business, this would be standard procedure, and especially as I had received this service in the past and so expected nothing to be different. I indicated I would no longer do any business with him in the future, and that I would let my circle of friends know the incompetent, unprofessional and irresponsible treatment I had received directly from the business owner.\r
\r
Based upon the absolutely condescending manner in which I was treated and the unwillingness to own any responsibility for the damage, I must let others know.\r
