My dachshund loves all of her toys from Trixie and Peanut and I love seeing the new toys that they bring out. I am constantly checking New Arrivals. The Haute Diggity Dog toys are among my favorites, as they are always good for a laugh and they are durable. They also make wonderful gifts! A new favorite is the collection of Woven Toys and I have my eye on the Woven Candy Cane for the holidays. I have never been to the NYC store, but I LOVE the website. Pros: Excellent customer service, creative & unique toys!!! Cons: None more

great selection!!!! they have the best clothes, toys, bags, bowls, treats, shoes, etc..... i just got a new puppy (first one ever!) and the staff helped tremendously with my purchases.... or else i would have been completely lost because the store is overwhelming- SOO many great finds! they even have teethers for puppies!! i am in love with this store and can't wait to for my puppy to get bigger so i can get her more goodies. my pup is definitely going to be the best dressed at the dog park :). thanks trixie and peanut!!! Wow! I love Trixie and Peanut. My friend in LA is always talking up this pet boutique and I found myself in NYC and thought I'd check it out. They have a great selection of pet products and the presentation is beautiful. I see that many people have complained about the staff, however the salesperson that assisted me was knowledgeable and friendly. She helped me find the perfect costume for my hard-to-fit mutt. high end pet store in a less then stellar economy should think about hiring staff that at least can pretend they are interested. it's the strangest thing, whenever i have been there one person is ok (not fabulous but ok) and the other is horrific. they can't find two interested people???? I must admit they have the best selection in the city, hands down, with a range of price points so there is something for almost everyone. Upscale, great quality and not crazy, crazy prices. I have been there a few times and the staff is extremely rude. My last visit the staff seemed a bit better, until i asked when the sale was and the women acted as if i asked a horribe, vile question. I have been a long-time regular customer of Trixie+Peanut and just can't say enough great things about it. The store itself is gorgeous and superbly tidy and organized. The merchandise is well-edited and displayed. These two things alone are enough reason for me to shop there. Most pet boutiques are a bit messy and never seem to have a range of sizes or colors - never has this been a problem for me at Trixie+Peanut. WOW! Trixie and Peanut is a truly beautiful store with the most amazing merchandise. I have shopped on their website and was so excited to visit the store when I was in NYC. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I had purchased an item online that didn't quite work for my dog (who I admit is a little chubby!) and they were happy to let me exchange it (even though I was a little past the 30 day exchange mark) and suggested a coat that fit his plump body perfectly! Now my pup is the most stylish dog in Minneapolis! Thank you Trixie and Peanut! I would recommend their store and website to any dog lover and can't wait to visit them again when I'm back in the city. Trixie + Peanut is truly dog heaven! I hadn't been back to this store in over two years after my beloved Frenchie passed away but my parents gave me a new puppy as an early Christmas present and after visiting every new pet boutique, I finally made my way back here. They really have the best selection, pricing and service. Their staff made great recommendations and they even encouraged me NOT to buy things that my puppy was going to grow out of. Its really very nice to go into a store and feel welcome with your pet and feel as if they care about what they sell you and aren't just after a quick sale. Rascal was allowed to run around and had a fantastic time playing with all the dogs there. Trixie & Peanut has only gotten better! I stumbled across this fun little pet boutique today. While I do not have a dog or cat, it looked so cute, I couldn't resist going in for a quick look. To my surprise, I actually ended up doing quite a bit of Christmas shopping there. They had great gifts for all of my friends with dogs and cats. Seriously, who wouldn't love a Jimmy Chew shoe or Chewy Vuitton purse toy? The prices were really reasonable for these "designer toys" and they also had adorable holiday treats so the gifts will be enjoyed by their pets too. I would highly recommend shopping here, especially if you need to get a unique present for someone who has pets. Pros: Great Gift Selection more

At first I thought "this is great - nice selection of cute doggie stuff!" However, after spending 70 bucks on a Polartec parka for my puppy, the velcro closure came off at the seams, only three days after I purchased the item. No problem, I thought. Just take it back and exchange it, right? Wrong! Apparently, the return policy normally is for exchange or store credit only (posted on a sign in the store), except when the item is defective (NOT part of the written policy!). In that case, the customer is not only being punished by having the faulty goods to begin with but also having to wait for the stuff to be shipped to the manufacturer, repaired, and sent back to the store. How long does this take? "Oh, uuuuhm, well, we don't really know - but it shouldn't take too long." So, my puppy has to be out in the frigid cold air with a wind chill of 5 F until further notice. I wasn't even allowed to BUY A NEW item! "... because we're almost out of that size. I mean, we don't really have any left." What? They actually took the sample parka (in the size we needed) of the shelf while we were standing there. Overall verdict: Never again! Horrible customer service experience. We purchased a Polartec parka which started to fall apart two days after bringing it home. We wanted a simple exchange. Trixie and Peanut denied us an exchange, citing an unpublished policy of theirs that appeared to be made up on the fly. They said they would send it to the manufacturer and we would have to wait while our puppy is walking around without her coat. Terrible customer service skills on a product that was only a few days old. They also claimed to be out of stock of a replacement, yet the one we saw on the shelf disappeared while we were having the discussion about how to take care of the defective merchandise (their solution was that it was OUR problem, not theirs). We had JUST seen the product on the shelf, and then suddenly they were out of stock. LIARS! Pros: cute stuff Cons: HORRIBLE customer return policy more

I was just looking up the exact location of Trixie + Peanut for a friend and was surprised to see the recently posted negative review. I have been shopping at this store regularly for over three years and have always received fantastic customer service. As the mother of a somewhat naughty terrier mix, I have had to return my fair share of items and they have always been more than accommodating. Understandably their carrier bags, toys and beds are final sale, but they have been kind enough to replace two of my carriers. One because it just didn't work for my dog (who is an escape artist) and another because my dog was actually able to chew his way through the mesh window. Arguably, this was his fault, however they deemed it "defective" and replaced it for me. As someone who has worked in retail, I have had unpleasant encounters with customers who are impossible to please. While I don't discount this reviewer's experience, I have always been pleased with the service at Trixie + Peanut and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to pamper their pets. Just wanted to write a quick review for anyone looking for raw dog food options. They actually sell the Natural Diet Foundation food developed by Wendy Volhard at Trixie and Peanut. I have a boxer with canine colitis and my friend suggested that I speak with the people there (apparently THE Peanut is a boxer) and they recommended this food. It has changed my life and my dog's life. I would recommend it to anyone. I'm definitely not the typical pet boutique shopper (I'm a guy with a big dog), but I give the folks at Trixie and Peanut a big thumbs up for carrying this food. I shopped Trixie + Peanut's Pet Emporium from their web-site. I would love to see their store in person!! I needed a bag of some sort to put my Chihuahua, Buster in. We have an 8 mos. old Staffordshire-Bull Terrier, Quigley, who thinks my 5 lb. Buster is her chew toy. Needless to say, Buster is NOT amused!! So, I found the Joey Pouch on Trixie + Peanut's site, ordered it and received it really quickly. The pouch is perfect and Buster loves it. I can go about doing whatever (washing dishes, preparing dinner, moving about the house) and I don't have to worry about Quigley harassing her little brother. Pros: Service was great.
