Call this awesome, vintage style salon and ask for AJ. I have been every hair color and style since I was in high school and now, years later, after trying several different salons and many stylists, I finally found my perfect match! AJ was amazingly patient with me, listening to every word, while I gave her a serious rundown of my hair traumas. The time she spent recommending the perfect tones and shades for my hair color, while asking if my budget and lifestyle were going to be something I could be committed to with the upcoming process, made me feel comfortable and excited for a change! From the upbeat conversation, to the shampoo, the amazing scalp massage before my AMAZING blowout that I could wear for days was worth every penny!! AJ has a way of making you feel like a new friend in her chair and I have never felt more beautiful leaving a salon and excited for my next appt! The staff Is so attentive, offering me cucumber water AND coffee and a great attitude from the receptionist when I checked out. thank you, TRIM! more

If you have curly hair, ask for Michael! I came in with a fairly hideous, damaged mop, and walked out with beautiful, glossy curls that would make Shirley Temple jealous. Michael listened to what I wanted and gave me a haircut that exceeded my expectations. He took his time with my hair and made friendly (read: not annoying) conversation. Me leaving a salon happy: THAT NEVER HAPPENS. But it did at Trim, for the first time in my life! I am so happy to have found a salon I can stick with. The hospitality of the staff and the cute environment is just icing on the cake. Love this place. more

I love this place! I rarely write online reviews in general, but after getting great service today, I thought on the drive home that I should put forth a little effort on my part and give credit where credit is due! Trim has been in business over 14 years and gives over 10% of their money to charity every year! They do not advertise this at all, but they should. I have seen 4 different stylists at TRIM, and they are all very talented. It is not uncommon there to see more than one stylist, my friend does the same thing and she has been going there 5 years. They remember your name, do exactly what you ask, and the environment is always chill but very professional. The cuts range from $40-$400 with the owner, who is a doll. I pay an average of $50-$70 a cut and have for years, and I am always happy. I am very picky with my hair, and this is the first place I have found that is CONSISTENT. My favorite services are $35 brow shaping and $40 Blowout. more

I have curly hair. Very. curly. hair. It's difficult enough to find a stylist that does a great job cutting and styling curly hair, let alone a wonderful salon experience to go along with it. I have found both at Trim. Merrill began cutting and styling my hair 7 years ago. It has been long, short, and all stages in between. I have never been disappointed in the quality of her work. Upon entering the salon, you will be greeted by several smiling faces welcoming you, offering you a drink. (Not only do they serve coffee, but make it to perfection using a combination of flavors) :) Along with the rest of the staff, Merrill provides a pleasant experience through her calming personality and pleasant demeanor. Not only are cuts great, but color too! I used to hate my curls. Now people compliment them daily....I owe it all to Merrill and the rest of the fabulous staff at Trim! more

I really wanted to like Trim, the salon was beautiful and the employees offered a beverage as I came in. My stylist, Libby, was willing to try something different. I noticed partway through my cut and color that she was harried, I believe that the front desk may not have scheduled enough time. The color turned out well, but she cut my hair fairly quickly. She was friendly in the beginning but was rushed out repeatedly during my session to do a consultation, and then a cut. When she returned she mentioned that her other client could not wait as she was going to the CMA's. I really felt like a second class client. When I arrived home, I noticed that there was a 6 inch half moon bleach spot on the back of my dress. I called and spoke with the receptionist who identified herself as a manager and she blew me off. For a $175 appointment I expect a fabulous cut, gorgeous color, excellent service, as well as my clothing to be as it was when I arrived. The receptionist offered to contact the owner. I agreed that would be best. more

I have thick, curly hair and haven't had much luck finding someone who really understands how to cut/style it correctly. After trying several different stylists and salons around town, I decided to make an appointment at Trim. The receptionist was really friendly on the phone and asked several questions to help figure out who would be best for me based on my budget and hair concerns. Michael was really sweet and listened to what I wanted, taking time to assess my hair (it sounds simple, but so few stylists that I've had really did this). I didn't give him much direction, but he understood what I wanted and cleaned up my messy haircut. I walked out with a GREAT cut and a really beautiful blowout--not easy to do with all my hair, but I felt like a shampoo commercial. Definitely will be back--ask for Michael if you've been wanting to try Trim :) more

I do not try new haircut places easily. I moved to Nashville 2 years ago, and just got around to trying to switch stylists from my Florida stylist. So, I am hesitant with my hair. I got my hair cut by Sarah who did a pretty good job. I just tried to schedule my 2nd appointment with her less than 3 months following my first appointment with her, and she has moved. The only suggestion on a replacement by the receptionist was to have some one whose haircut would be $20 more per cut. This is a 50% increase from the $40 cut from Sarah. No thanks. Now, I have to find another place... more

We were on vacation. Someone recommended Trim for a haircut, which I needed. AJ is a level II stylist. She gave me the best haircut I ever got. She was professional, friendly, cute, and knows how to cut hair. My hair is fine and thinning. I don't know how she did it, but she did an amazing job. My hair looks the best it has in years. Not to mention, the scalp massage was one of the best stress-reducers I've ever had as well. The rest of the staff were friendly and welcoming. If you go, ask for AJ (I didn't get a free haircut for this review). She is amazing. more

I have had my hair cut at Trim for 8 years. I have always left Bryan's chair feeling as though my hair was the absolute best it has ever looked. I once made a rash decision under peer pressure to have my hair cut elsewhere. Big mistake--and one that I will never make again!! The staff at Trim are friendly and knowledgeable, and I will always trust my hair to Bryan. more

I also went to Salon FX before, but I will follow AJ wherever she decides to go. She is nothing shy of amazing! She gives me what I want every time. I have never been unhappy with my color or cut from her. She truly has a passion for what she does it is not just a job for her. I am going to Trim for the first time tomorrow really excited about checking it out! I have only heard great things about Trim, and I only have great things to say about AJ! more

I love Trim (12 S neighborhood)! I was previously a patron of Salon FX in midtown, but I moved with my stylist, AJ Franking. She is the only person I've ever gone to in middle Tennessee, and for good reason! I've never been less than 110% satisfied with my cut/color when I leave. I'm so glad she made the decision to move, as Trim is a much warmer atmosphere, with a great staff! more

Well I used to LOVE Trim, I had gotten numerous cuts by two different stylists there and both were great. Laura Beth is an EXCELLENT stylist and just overall cool chick.. She will give you the cut you want, great conversation and even have you in and out within your lunch hour. Where it all went wrong for me was when I recently decided to go Ombre with my color. After two attempts with two different stylists, it was FAR more conservative than then images I had brought in with me, even after I said ""GO BOLD"" the color was still merely warm highlights that although done well and beautiful was NOT what I wanted. I spoke twice to their manager Gregory, the second time I left a message I didn't even get a call back, they know I'm unhappy and plan to not return, yet it would seem that after 1 attempt to fix and having my money they don't care. So, sadly that is the end of my time at Trim. If I ever go back it will only be b/c of Laura Beth and for a good cut, but if you want bold, cutting edge color,.... my suspicion is that the mgmt here tells their stylists to be conservative and not trust that the client is intellegent enough to know what they want, ..... try somewhere else! more

I have been very unhappy with my hair for a long time. I have tried many, many different salons in Alabama and Tennessee and just could not find anyone that could make my hair look good. Then one day my husband mentioned Trim because it was down the street from his favorite place, Forks Drum Closet. So I looked them up here on City Search and decided to give them a try. more

OMG!!!! I went to Trim and found Angelica..I've always have had trouble getting my hair highlighted blonde. They tell me because it's 'ethnic' hair (I'm Latina) and it tends to do things it's not suppose too. Angelica GOT it RIGHT!!! I love her and my hair. She was sweet, she listened to what I wanted and DELIVERED! Trim is my new Salon and Angelica my new Stylist...Thanks Angelica, wish I could put up a picture. more

I had been to Trims before and decided to give it another try with a different stylist. So I came in to Trims for a consultation with Angelica to make sure she would be able to highlight my hair blonde( since my hair is naturally dark). I have been to hairstylist who flat out told me honestly it was impossiable to do, but Angelica said other wise. I had mentioned that my previous stylist never used a toner just straight bleach. She agreed at everything and I even showed her previous blonde pictures of myself. She seemed like a nice person we chatted while she did my hair. Although when I turned around in the chair when she washed out my highlights IT WAS ORANGE!!!!!!! Then she put toner in my hair which was even worse. At this point she could tell I was not happy. Another person dried my hair and I told her that I didn't like it. She said she wasn't going to charge me for the toner. HELLO I didn't want it to begin with lol..WASTED $200.00 on making my hair orange. Will never go again. I should have learned my lesson the first time. DAMN TRIMS more

I have had more compliments on my hair in the past 48 hours than I have had in my entire life! (And I'm a strawberry blonde who usually gets lots of hair compliments). more

After spending years going to ""top"" stylists at ""top"" salons in Los Angeles and Dallas, I was more than a tad skeptical about finding a skilled stylist when I moved to Nashville. But I question it no more. Chase at Trim Classic Barber and Legendary Beauty is the MOST TALENTED stylist to ever work on my hair. I now have the most beautiful, natural looking, long, flowing, shiny, healthy blond hair ever. People constantly compliment me wherever I go. Chase is THE stylist of Nashville. What are you waiting for? Book him! Best beauty decision you'll make all year. Promise! more

I am so glad to have found Chase- he is amazing at his job and I absolutely trust him with my head of kinky curly hair. He truly listens to what I want and teaches me as he works so I'm not lost the next time I try to recreate his magic.
