Best

The place to go for some Mexican comfort food. Service is excellent, our favorite waiter is quite the comedian. I recommend the cheese enchiladas ~ so good!

Worst

Coming from southern California, I have high expectations of my Mexican food. Washingtonians do not. I forgive them because they just don't know any better. But Tres Hermanos ...

Fast, Consistent and excellent Margaritas 8/22/2011

Yeah, yeah, I know. It's not Cactus or Galeria's. But if you want decent Mexican food in less than 5 minutes (at a place that doesn't rhyme with Taco Hell) this is the place. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and there are some standouts on their menu; try the Tacos Al Pastor, the Chipotle Enchiladas and ask for the warm Salsa Verdes to go with your chips! The Jumbo Bartender's Margarita is muy delicioso! more

Will NEVER go back 5/12/2011

We went with a group of 15 people on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was ok, the food was ok, portions were good, but value was below average. Service was quick, but for $10 I had a portion which left me a bit hungry. Additionally, the waiter spilled sauce from one of the plates on my coat and splattering my date's coat and splattering it across the back of my shirt. They scrubbed at my coat with a cleaning rag rubbing in the stain. They offered to pay the dry cleaning bill, but didn't reduce the price of either of our meals. I tried to not make a big deal of it, to avoid letting it ruin our (4th) date together. Also I wanted to be reasonable about it and save them money on dry cleaning if possible, so I laundered my coat/shirt myself with stain remover but it took several washes to get the stain light enough to not be easily noticed. I took my date's drycleaning bill in and asked that they instead credit my meal since I didn't send either my coat or shirt to dry cleaning. They seemed hesitant to do this, but they eventually paid the $28 (her meal was still paid full price at ~$10). They argued that it couldn't have been hard to get out the stain, they splatter things on their outfits all the time. This left me feeling like they were implying I was lying to them. I asked if they could round up the amount (by $2) to be an even $30 to compensate us for the time/gas to run back and forth to the dry cleaner, try to get the stain out of my outfit and to go back to their resturant with the reciepts. They were only willing to round up the pennies on the reciepts to the next dollar. I expressed dissatisfaction and they said they thought that they had done more than enough offering to cover the dry cleaning and I got the vibe that they simply didn't care if I was happy or not or if our group came again or not. Generally I don't expect much from a restaurant, but in addition to offering to pay for the cleaning, I wish they offered to discount our (2 of 15) meals to improve our experience. more

For Smokers Only 9/6/2005

This place has a smoking section that can't be avoided. I don't recommend this place unless you smoke. more

What you expect Mexican food in Kirkland to be 8/12/2005

Coming from southern California, I have high expectations of my Mexican food. Washingtonians do not. I forgive them because they just don't know any better. But Tres Hermanos is just what you are accustomed to and know. And in that, they do a good job. Their service is quick and they come around often to check on you to see if you need anything else. Their chips and salsa are outstanding. Their portions are a little on the small side, but when you consider the rice and beans on your plate, no one will leave hungry. We usually get the burritos and chimichangas with shredded beef. (costs extra). They are normally served with that flavored taco meat that you guys seem to love. They make a great margarita. They are usually busy on weekends, but the weeknights are pretty easy to sit right down to a table. They do offer a kids menu as well. more
