Robert (Treemaster owner) is a nice guy who talks a good game. He wrote-up a quote as soon as he came to the house. When I faxed-back the signed copy, I included requests/comments. When the day came, he and his partner arrived and immediately went to work to cut-down the trees we discussed. Unfortunately, he didn't read my additional comments. He went strictly by the original contract. When his partner fired-up a 2nd-chainsaw to cut-up some of the wood, Robert halted him and said don't waste it. In the contract, he knocked-off $100 since I'd do the cleanup. Guess the additional service of cutting-up the wood into cleaner, more manageable pieces as I requested was not being done. Once the main tree (front-yard) was cut-down, he said he'd haul it away for $200. Hold-on, it was $100. He said the amount of debris was bigger than expected. When he returned to grind the stump, it was a partial job. Oh, he got the stump but I requested the feeder roots as well. He didn't do it.
As for the 2nd tree, I requested it be cut-down to 3-ft off the ground since it was big enough to be a table. He came down and left 20-ft in the air, claiming the tree was very healthy and realistically, there was no way I was going to move it.
Throughout the experience, his attitude and impression being given is he didn't want to be there and wanted to be getting quotes for the next job. He may know trees but his mannerisms are poor as well as customer svc.
If I had absolutely no choice, I'd use Treemasters again, but, make sure everything was written on the original contract so that there was no misunderstanding. Otherwise, I do not recommend this company and should've listened to my instincts about using someone else. Treemasters seems to be more about hurrying-up to get the money than actual customer svc. and doing what the customer asks.
