Treehorn is probably one of the better independent bookstores around - better than Copperfields! 3/31/2006

I love Treehorn. They have books and editions of books that are hard to find elsewhere, and everything they have is just so interesting! Great prices, and some of the sales people are friendly, some not so. Good place to sell books too, though you should call ahead and make sure that their buyers are there - they recommended this to me before. They prefer to buy and sell very indie, very hard to find books and they also have tarot cards for sale too. more

Nice store 8/8/2005

Treehorn books can be easily missed at it's location, surrounded by other shops, but don't be fooled you can find some good deals on books here. They have a large variety of books, and quite a few in each catagory. Sometimes I am able to find books here that were hard to find (or sometimes not there at all) in the bigger chain stores. more

Great Little Find 7/11/2005

My friends directed me here one day when we were wandering around downtown. I was surprised to find such a little jewel. There were so many different KINDS of books, and lots of books in each category. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are having a hard time finding a book. more

Nice little bookstore. 7/7/2005

My senior english class had a free reading unit, so I decided to hit all the book stores in my city to find the perfect novel. I stumbled upon Treehorn Books on my way to the Plaza. It's this little book store that can easily be overlooked by the other botiques and hair salons surrounding it. They have excellent deals on used books such as Johnny Got His Gun, Grapes of Wrath, and more. I bought a book for just two dollars, which was a definite deal! I highly recommend checking this place out. more

  • Treehorn Books began as a collaboration between two friends who shared an interest in literature, history, and collecting books from years past?Keith Hotaling grew up among some far-flung Army bases until high school and college days in Sonoma County. As friends at Sonoma State College, Michael Stephens had arrived in Sonoma County after a childhood in the mid-west.At one time or another, both of our families have been involved in running the store. Especially Grant Hotaling, Keith?s son, and the now de-facto store manager. In addition to the family connections, we have several employees who have worked 25 years at the store!
