""Trapper"" couldn't be a better name for this company. They ""Trap"" you in with false adv, and then treat you like criminals upon arrival more

Unprofessional, aggressive and rude 5/21/2012

I will never return to this place because of the unnecessary disrespect and verbal lashing from who I assume was the owner. My friends and I decided to go here for a ""cabrewing"" trip because their website said that alcohol was permitted and we wanted to go to a location that allowed such a trip. The second we arrived this guy started tearing through our coolers and shouting at us for having too many beverages. We agreed to put some of it back without a fight but he continued to yell at us for being disrespectful and sneaky. He always opened up every bottle we had to smell it and yelled at us for trying to get ""liquor drunk."" One of our guests is not a beer drinker and was simply trying to bring some mixed drinks on the trip to enjoy, however every drink was taken out of the cooler all the while being yelled at for our motives. His aggressive, accusatory tone ruined the mood of our entire trip and the constant scolding and borderline frisking was unacceptable behavior in my eyes. We are all responsible, respectful students who never even had a chance to show it because every time we tried to speak he would cut us off and tell us how disrespectful we had been. If you do not want people to drink on your river, do not have an option available for those who want to bring alcohol. It is a poor business strategy to say alcohol is permitted and then rip through our belongings and make a personal judgment on how much alcohol is allowed. We were even told to leave and go to Scioto because ""you can take whatever you want on their river, because their river is not as nice as ours."" The level of disrespect this individual showed towards his customers as well as other businesses was astounding to me. I have never experienced such rude behavior from a grown man when no one in our party had even said a word to him yet. The entire experience was unnecessarily aggressive, verbally abusive, judgemental, and utterly confusing since the site permitted alcohol. He would have received a better outcome and more positive response from us had he addressed us as customers who were confused by the regulations rather than juvenile delinquents with ulterior motives to ruin his livelihood. The river itself was enjoyable, but the aggressive scolding that preceded it ruined the experience entirely. more

Had a bad experience with an individual here, he will check your belongings and not let a drop of alcohol out on the water. If you are looking to have a family outing or get in some exercise then this place is fine, but this is not the place to be if you are planning on having a couple of drinks (2 cans of beer to be exact). They should post this on their website if that is the case, 2 cans of beer is not a ""beer party"" and we wasted a trip there just to find out what this vague rule meant.\r \r This person was very very unprofessional, and sadly he appeared to be a supervisor of some sort. I had not encountered this person the past few times I had been there, but having to deal with that is not what I call a good time. GO TO HOCKING, it is much better all around. Pros: scenic, most staff are cool Cons: Cannot drink alcohol, too short, unprofessional supervisor more
