Best

Harrison's is a great hangout. Kevin, the manager/bartender is great as well. Don't miss it for the good food and beer, and great atmosphere!

Worst

A group of work buddies and I went to Harrison's today and sat outside. Aside from having a VERY snarky waitress, whose cut-off jean shorts made her look very trashy, the food wa...

Sit at the bar. 11/30/2008

Sure Harrison's has good food, but the service stinks! I've been there several times and every time it took ages to get acknowledged. Some of the bartenders are friendly and treat you well, but other than that I haven't enjoyed my time there. \r I've worked in the service industry for years- So I like to tip well for people that wait on me anywhere I go, but I have to say, I did not do this at Harrison's on the times I had been there. \r There's bar that's a 2 minute walk from Harrison's, The Upper Deck where the staff are a lot more welcoming, and I prefer to hang out there.\r \r \r If you go to Harrison's, definately find a seat at the bar. Pros: Parking Cons: Service, Atmosphere more

go somewhere else 11/15/2008

Like everyone else has said, don't waste your time, especially if you don't want to smell like cigar smoke and god knows what else for the rest of your night. It's the closest bar to my house, so now and then I end up going there after work just out of convenience, but I don't know why because every time I do I regret it. I have never seen management around unless drinking. The food is very hit-or-miss--if they get your order right--and the place is very dirty. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else. more

Don't waste your time 10/8/2008

I have been a long time customer at this bar for several year, and have given it more opportunities to make up for its wrong doings then it deserves. I am DONE with this terrible service. After so may times of ordering food/beers that never come, I am feed up. (In fact on multiple occasions I've come home to fend for myself after going there for a meal) . Managements attitude towards its customers is disgraceful and most of the servers are indifferent. This place is not worth your time/money. more

$6 for a 12 oz beer..seriously! 6/21/2008

June, 2008. I have (had) been a regular: at least twice a month for about the past 5-6 years. I'd usually go on Saturday because of the ribs special. I usually order one or two beers when I'm there.\r \r Today was my last visit...ever\r \r The ribs were cold so I sent them back. They put them under the warming lamp for about 2 minutes which made the cole slaw hot and the ribs only moderately warmer (not to mention the fries got soaked in rib grease)....I mean, COME ON!! the frigging cole slaw was HOT when the plate was returned to me!! \r \r When I placed my food order, I also asked for a Rogue Dead Guy on tap and when I got my bill, the cost of the beer was $5.57!!\r \r $6 for a draft beer?! , did they pump it out of the ground in Saudi Arabia and refine it in the Gulf of Mexico before it got tapped it in Cary?...WTF! Maybe it should be called Rogue Dead Dinosaur! \r \r I'm a homebrewer and even my WORST beer is better than a luke-warm, partially carbonated $6 dead guy! \r \r I feel violated after the shock of today's bill; I hope this post enlightens current and potential future patron's. Cons: overpriced more

service 5/8/2008

I grew up in the bar business and worked in it. I must say Harrisons has the worst sevice of any place I have ever been too. All the wait staff have horrible attitudes and are VERY slow. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Great food, Great service (if you get the right bartender) 3/19/2008

I Love Harrison's. They have now changed one side to NS and it is great. The food is always good. The only thing that I don't like is that if you get a moody bartender waiting on you. When I go in if I see the bald guy (I think his name is Brett ot Brent) or the day time girl, Suzie, I walk out they are always so short, almost to the point of being rude. Last time I was there and I decided to stay the Brent guy was so rude and put out by having to clean our table off that he never returned to wait on us. Everytime I have been there even if he's not waiting on us he comes off SOOO rude to everyone around us that he is speaking too. Thankfully the cute little girl working with him saw us and ran out and took great care of us. Suzie by the end of her shift just is always so grumpy, guess she should take some time off. Other than those two people this establishment is GREAT and I LOVE going there. Pros: Food, service, selection Cons: Brent or Brett, and Suzie more

Great food, terrible service! 8/7/2007

I am a Cary native. Can you believe it? I have been going to Harrison's for years. It was a good hangout for my friends to have good food, a variety of drinks, play pool and let's not forget pickle chips! We used to go there at least three times a week. However, within the last two years I have only gone three times. The food is still wonderful but the service is the worst I've had anywhere. I kept trying to give them another chance. My suggestion to you is order take out or be prepared to get frustrated and spend a long time waiting for your server to get you anything! Pros: THE FOOD Cons: SERVICE more

Best Burgers and Beer in town. 4/19/2007

Harrison's is no Ruth's Chris, but it's not supposed to be. Great food, good beer , great prices and a lively Sports Bar atmosphere. A little less smoke would be nice. I have friends that visit from New Jersey that must come to Harrison's every time they visit. It's a regular for my wife and I. Parking is a problem. Pros: Great burger, good beer Cons: Too smokey, poor parking more

smokers delight 2/21/2007

First of all this place is one big ashtray. You will leave smelling like you smoked a pack of cigarettes even if you never put one of those nasty things to your lips. It ruins the taste of food and beer and will stink up your car when you leave. If smoking bothers you at all dont step foot in this place. Make sure to rub the buddah's belly if you stop by for good luck, you'll need it to fend off lung cancer.\r \r They have a great beer selection and good pub grub and good beer specials during the week. The service is good too. Pros: good beer Cons: too smokey more

Tons of Beer! 5/24/2005

I have to correct MonAccount's review. Harrison's has way more than 15 beers on tap. Total, there are about 50 -60. I have been going to Harrison's since the day they opened 9 years ago. They have a variety of domestics, imports and mostly micro brews. If you want a place to hang out with friends or have a good meal, check them out! more

Great, but... 1/26/2004

they used to have an awesome beer selection - they pared it down to about 15 on tap, most of which I don't like anyway. Their food and service is still good, but I go to bars for beer - and sadly I probably won't be back, except to occasionally see if they've gotten good beers back on the list. Pros: Affordable, Great service, Good food Cons: Poor beer selection more

Cary's Jewel Under the Gold 7/23/2003

This is the place for every occasion. Just go and you will see. The beer selection, the menu, quality of the food and the service will blow you away. This is easily the best bar in Cary, NC-without a doubt. NTN, pool, Golden Tee, many TV's to watch the games on, and the hot servers alone will make your whole night-this IS the place to be in Cary on any night of the week!! Pros: great menu, fantastic food, ask for Kevin Cons: way to smokey more

Harrison's has it all! 4/11/2003

Great bar, food, pool tables, big screen TV, darts, and juke box. It is the perfect place to go after work to meet friends. The service is always prompt and friendly. Harrison's bartenders are the best! I have been going there for years and have never been disappointed. Pros: Beer Selection, Service Cons: Parking more

I love this place! 12/31/2002

I never thought I'd be one to hang out at a sports bar, but I love Harrison's. The staff is great as is the food and beer. Only downside: there is no non-smoking section, but that doesn't stop me! Pros: Cheap beer specials, Great food, Great staff Cons: No non-smoking areas, No non-smoking areas, No non-smoking areas more

100 7/24/2002

It's a fun and enjoyable environment, with good food and great service. more

Best place in town for Burgers and Beer! 7/23/2002

I am a short drive from Harrison's and love going after work for Burgers and Beer. However, I am now convinced that this is also one of the best places in town to get a group of friends together for the same. Thanks to the awesome staff (and a call ahead of time), they are always willing to bend over backwards to accomodate a large crowd. We started this past Valentine's Day (and recently repeated the same for a Birthday outing) with a group of almost 20 women. Seamless service, great burgers, and an awesome selection of beer (even a decent selection of wine for a sport's bar - for the non-beer drinkers). Many of the women agreed it was better than any date they had been on lately! Go Harrison's!! Pros: Great Burgers, Great beer selection more

Yummy!! 6/20/2002

Harrison's is by far one of my favorite places to eat and hang out in the Cary-Raleigh area. The menu is huge, and everything that I have tried has been fantastic! Not only do they have a large variety of unique burgers, but you can get them with grilled chicken instead of ground beef! Make sure you try the fried pickle chips -- how delicious! Every good burger deserves a great beer, and Harrison's has more than enough great beers. You can have a great meal, drink some great brews, watch a few games on TV, and play a little pool -- all while listening to the tunes from the jukebox! Harrison's is the best!! more

Neighboorhood Hangout 6/9/2002

More of a neighborhood hangout than a trendy scene, Harrison's is a great low-key bar with hefty burgers and a wide variety of beers. Pros: good burgers Cons: gets crowded, sometimes rowdy more
