Best Hair Salon Ever! 2/20/2011

I called 30 min. before they opened on a saturday and they were still able to get me an early appointment. Everyone was super nice. The manager asked me what I was doing with my hair color. I told him I was growing it out. (I had half natural brown on top, blonde on bottom yuck) He told me he could give me a complimentary toner to match the bottom to the top! I was estatic and egerly accepted. The toner matched my natural color beautifully! I had gone to Visible Changes 2 years ago and asked them if they could do something to match my bottom color to the top without color the ""expert"" color stylist told me no and touched up my blonde highlights. The person I had a consultation with was really good at helping me what to do with my hair. Because my consultant was different than my stylist I thought something would go wrong but they communicate very well. Jay my stylist did an excellent job, I haven't seen my hair look this good in a long time. I've gone to Visible Changes several times seeing all level stylists never satisfied. I went to Toni and Guy once seeing a level 1 and came out amazed. I finally found my stylist/salon. I haven't gone until now due to reviews on the internet, but now am glad I gave them a chance. Best place EVER!!! Thank you Jay and Team from Toni and Guy! more

Happy with salon 3/9/2010

Michelle and Lauren do awesome work! Pros: Excellent hi lites more

Very disappointing 11/9/2009

I got my hair styled at Toni & Guy's believing it would be a safe, good place I could trust. I told the stylist EXACTLY what I wanted and how I took care of my hair. Either she didn't listen or just wanted to do it her way. It is awful!! I am going to have to pay again to get it fixed. It will probably have to be cut short to fix it and I do not want short hair. Be VERY CAREFUL about this salon!! Pros: Availability Cons: Poor styling more

Mostly good................. 11/5/2009

I have been going to this Toni and Guy location since they opened about 7 years I guess. I have had some great stylist there. Adrianne is one and Angelica is another. There is a huge turn around on colorist though but I have usually gotten good results. Like everyone else I think Jonathon sucks. He gives guys a great cut but not the women that I can tell. Also his attitude sucks. He does act like you owe him something. I have spent literally thousands of dollars there and have rarely if ever made a fuss except a time back I was very disappointed and he told me I burned my own hair was what was wrong! What great service. They don't send out any cards or coupons or anything for their loyal customers which would be nice at least once a year. Anyway I do like the results I get there MOST of the time so that's why I go back. I NO LONGER GO BACK. I now go to Visable Changes in the same mall and am sooo much happier. Just as good of quality and friendly and more comfortable. Pros: Good color, cuts usually good Cons: Price, attitude of owner, customer service more

Disappointed! 7/22/2009

I would like to give this stylist a 0 rating! I am new in the area and on July 11 my husband and I went to baybrook mall in search for a salon. We came across Toni & Guy, so we watched through the glass window for awhile. I really liked one of the stylists hairstyle (her station was by the window) so we went in and i asked who had cut her hair. The receptionist told me it was Jonathon and that he could cut my hair in about 40 minutes. I went ahead and took the appointment, she also said we would have a consultation first. Jonathon came out, I pointed out the haircut exactly like the stylist by the window and all he said was ok, no problem, while he was dancing around and singing. THE RESULTS: It looks nothing like the style I asked for. It was a Bob stlye. My hair was long enough to get that stlye too! I came out with a very short bowl cut in the back and a very short ""SPIKED"" hairstyle! I am 58 years old! For pete's sake I don't need a spiked hairdo! I also want to mention my husband paid $94.00 plus tax & tip for this embarassing style. I feel degraded and abused! I would like to get my money back .Can anyone reccommend someone I can trust and that will give me what I really want and is not so expensive, After my hair grows back! more

Going downhill 7/8/2009

I have been a client at the salon for a number of years. I continued to move from stylist to stylist because the turnover is terrible but everyone was always very educated and up to date. However, for the past couple years I've been seeing kristin for my colour and was happy with the way she had done my colour. I wasn't always happy with my stylist jonathon but he gave a good haircut so I put up with his antics. And that's exactly what they are, antics. He acts like everyone who walks through those glass doors owes him something and Tver should feel lucky to have him cut their hair. I finally had enough one time after seeing him reprimand a coworker in the middle of a very busy mall. I mentioned something to him about the turnover and maybe if he didn't treat his staff the way he does he would be able to keep his talented staff. And not to my suprise he brushed it off as it's business. I'm very glad to see someone post where kristin is and will be making an appointment as soon as I can. The colourisfs seem to be on a different page than she is. I've seen several of the girls they recommend I see and have been unhappy with all of them. The educator Rachel seems to be very careless in her resolving of my hair disaster. Her response was well that's really the best we can do. Not quite good enough anymore baybrook! more

Where's kristen?!?! 3/23/2009

I have been going to toni and guy for 10 years(various locations) and 3 years ago I found the best colourist. Kristen always knew just what to do. I never liked picking out those hair samples from the book because it never looks like it. She always had a simple way to explain what she was doing. I never left unhappy. I even stopped telling her what I wanted because she knows what looks best. But I called last week to make an appointment and I was mortified to hear ""she's no longer with the company"". I was offered another colourist, but don't trust anyone else because every colourist would always ask kristen mulitple questions about how to do any various colour service. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. I'm willing to stop colouring my hair until I find kristen!! Help!!!! more

Kristen Found 3/18/2009

I was so excited to see that someone was looking for Kristen. I found her at Salon Beaute in Webster, right off Bay Area Blvd, not far from the mall. Her Number is 281-332-8354. She has been my colourist for years now, and was very happy to see she left Toni and Guy. It was so loud and crazy there, they lost an excellent colourist. I only continued going there for Kristen, but have already booked with her at her new salon. I would not see anyone else but Kristen. The new salon is very nice, professional and feel very happy for Kristen, as she is the best in the business. She always listens to what I want, and does it exactly right. I always have tons of compliments on my hair, so I highly recommend Kristen to everyone. more

WHERES KRISTEN?!? 3/18/2009

I have been a client of Toni and Guy for several years, I finally found a colourist that I was really satisfied with. She always knew just what to do. I never liked picking out those swatches, and she had the easiest ways of explaning things to me not using those big ""hair words"". I called last week to make an appointment and was mortified to hear the receptionist say ""She's no longer with the company"". I was offered another colourist, but dont really trust anyone else. All the girls would always come ask her what to do and what colour to use. If anyone can help me find Kristen I would really appreciate it, I am willing to not colour my hair until I find her!! HELP!!!! Cons: Kristen is gone!!! more

Reese is an AMAZING colorist! 1/18/2009

I have been a client of the salon for a couple of years. Reese always does an impeccable job on my hair color and highlights. She always coordinates the perfect colors and technique for whatever look I want to achieve. Even when I am unsure of what exactly I want done with my color, she utilizes the latest trends and customizes them to suit my complexion and style...and I walk away very pleased every single time. I am always complimented on my color and highlights. Pros: Experienced, educated and trendy stylists/colorists....and Reese. more

DONT GO THERE !!!!!!!!!! 12/8/2008

if i could, i put 0 star. more

Don't get highlights here!!! 8/11/2008

Went in for ""highlights"" and a hair cut. Hair cut was great by Ashley. Color was definitely NOT highlights...I have NONE of my original hair color remaining. Color wizard, Reese had mentioned that because I had a lot of ""new"" hair growth she would put more foils and that my hair would be blond. I guess my vision of blond highlights and hers are very, very far apart. All of my hair is some weird color blondish white which will take several hundred dollars to get back to something that resembles a ""real"" hair color. (With someone who actually knows something about color) I have highlighted my hair for at least 25 years and never had an awful experience like this. Would not recommend using T & G for any color job! Stay away! In retrospect, I noticed several other unnaturally ""blond"" people coming in to get re-highlighted to cover awful roots. I have never had an issue with ""roots"" when highlights grew out before. If the person coloring your hair has a clue what they are doing, they use a lighter shade of your natural color so when the highlights grow out they blend in with your natural hair color and you don't get skunk hair! Pros: Good hair cut Cons: Terrible job on hair highlights more

Best Stylist & Great Salon 9/6/2007

I have been going to Angie for 2.5 years and she is the best stylist I have found in Houston or the burbs. She will listen to what you're going for, give suggestions and I've always walked away with a great haircut. I can tell you I get unsolicited compliments on my hair at least once a week if not more. All the stylists there are highly trained, but Angie is my favorite! Pros: highly trained/skilled stylists, great music playing, clean, friendly staff more
